replaced my passenger side wheel hub yesterday because the bearing was going bad. that was a success but found out my passenger side CV boot is completely torn... half of the axel even came out because there was not boot to hold it.....
Granted, some people park their car in situations and climates where this is a pointless solution. But for others it might be a simple precaution.
I've been thinking about this problem, and wonder how much effort it would be to keep a roll of frog tape in the trunk, for those days where you are forced to park the car outdoors under the beating sun. Don't even need to be precise, just rip a 12" length of tape and run it down the middle of the lens.

IDK about you, but my friends and family already think i've gone 'round the bend. If I start taping bits and pieces of my G to keep the sun off it...well....

I garage-park my car, and barely drive it anyway. Plus, I live in a climate where blistering sun is a rarity. Still... if the situation called for it, I wouldn't hesitate. After you get your headlights painted, keep a roll in your trunk, Sean. Now that you're thinking about it, you know you're going to anyway... so just stop fighting it.
Also, it would look terrible on the car... Luckily I don' t have to park outside really ever, but I'm curious what you guys come up with.
As much work as you put into the car looking good, and you're going to keep it parked with ripped off pieces of tape over the lenses? 3M has some very light tints that reject 60% of heat. Seems like an easy win.
