Speaking of insurance, mine just went up again. $599/yr to $683/yr. No claims, tickets, accidents, or other payouts. These insurance co's get you in with teaser rates then jack you on the renewal. Crunching the numbers, it still makes sense to stay with these guys at least another year as the combined car/home total is less than other quotes we've received.

Maybe it's all the shootings in adjacent zipcodes to ours. Bullet holes are not cheap to repair.

Idk about you guys. But in NC all vehicles have a state rating and It increases as accidents occur. I'm NC the rating is stupid high. A lot of people wreck G's because they don't understand how to correct oversteer I think. 3 people I've talked too, 2 of which were older women, have lost control at some point while owning their G lol insurance for my journey sedan was only about 100 bucks cheaper every 6 months over my 370z. They wanted 980 every six months because I'm under 25.... So I found a loop hole and got on a family plan and now I pay 460 or 480. Don't tell Allstate lmao.

Lol.. Good deal!

Tickets are also expensive in NC. Cost me $500 to get out of one few years. Supposedly I was only going 16 over. Which here in chicago wouldn't even get you a second look. Had to get a lawyer involved and then plead down to a lessor charge (equipment violation of some sort). What a racket. When I had the bike, I budgeted for a ticket once a season. Many seasons passed without the piper collecting. Time to pay.

Yea man it's insane lol. And improper equipment is a classic lol much much better than speeding. As long as they get their "court fees" and the lawyer pockets enough money, they'll let you go. Sometimes. lol. Also depends on the county though. Glad you got out of it. What county was it?

I don't remember. This was 4 years ago. It was near the smokey mountains. Swanson or something?

I was willing to pay so as not to get points. Points make their way to IL then I pay in other ways such as higher insurance costs.

Was REALLY tempted by a 2014 S4 CPO that was available in my market for a great deal (15k mi for $43K)

But glad I stopped myself, my cars pretty much paid off, still love it (except the misaligned front grille ), and its got so much life left (just ticked over 17k mi). Huge factor is also how accustomed I've gotten to Japanese reliability/maintenance.

Another revelation, think its (finally) time for some mods that actually change how this thing drives/feels. I've tip toed around for too long and let the driving experience get a bit stale...this recent temptation has committed me to start researching and develop a plan for this spring/summer.

Sticking around

(sorry if this should've gone in my diary, figuring some others might be able to relate)

Exhaust Help

Hey guys I'm definitely new to this vehicle. Just got a g37 X sedan 2010. I've been looking at exhaust options and have been working with a shop on getting one customized. I haven't seen many options for a custom cat back thread. Was curios if anyone had one installed and what diameter piping was used and muffler options. The shop is recommending 2in piping true duals to single in single out flowmaster mufflers. Would this be advisable? Appreciate anyone's assistance.

Hell yes! Good to hear that you're stickin around. I would rather have the G over the S4. Only thing I like about the S4 is the way it looks and the interior. Not a big fan of the typical heavy steering German feel. What mods do you have on your G?

^thanks man!

Basically just wheels (coupe 19s) so far

Meaning, lots of room for improvement, looking fwd to doing some (much needed) research, particularly with upgrading handling and sound

I highly recommend a good set of sway bars first It changes up the game big time, if you've never done sways on a car.

Add some decent 32-way adjustable coils and get her corner balanced to go with the sways and it will drop your jaw lol. A lot of people just buy coils and slam it expecting it to handle better but actually makes it handle like ****. You want your LCA's to be almost parallel to the ground and then just stiffen the suspension to keep it from rolling. From what I understand, when you go too low it throws the suspension out of geometry. Only way to go real low and do it is to buy a roll-kit or something like that. It's Been to long to remember technical terms lol.

Here's a good read... It's a lot. But good haha

Tried searching but couldn't find much. Has anyone color matched the stock chrome "spoiler"? I've got a spare one and I'm thinking about color matching it
