You are comparing a Coupe to a Sedan with 18" resonators in those vids.

I have a sedan, and the FI is most DEFINITELY louder than the OEM. There is no doubt. The neighbors have commented on it, my family has commented on it, strangers have complimented me on it.

There's even a question of this????

Thanks Sean... I was thinking the same - FI CBE w/18" resonators. BTW, do you have the 2.5" tubing or 2.25"? I have the 2.25"...

I just got back from a little bit of 'window shopping' on some SUV's. The new Tahoe is much improved (my brother-in-law just picked one up for his family). I'm setting an appointment to test drive a used Jeep SRT (2013).

He has a varied history with high-performance cars and aftermarket exhausts, all of which makes "loud" a subjective opinion far more tolerant for him then you or me. Or your neighbors, for that matter.

thanks! Ya, I'd be doing the install, so it would be easy enough to take off afterwards...

The ride height (the wheel gap) is something that I'd like to get rid of but maybe go the route of the Tein coilovers - this way the dampening and ride height would be beneficial to adjust.

Umm, you do know I wasn't comparing the sedan exhaust with the coupe exhaust right?

What I was trying to get at was that sedan fast intentions exhaust is not much louder than the STOCK G37S COUPE exhaust which means that it is definitely tolerable because no one ever complains about IT being to loud.

I have the little/regular tubing, I think that's the 2.25". And the 18" resonators.

I thought the previous Tahoe was nice. A friend has one and I think she it loaded up...leather, gadgets galore. She called it a budget Escalade, but looking at the sticker price it didn't seem very 'budgety'. LOL. That thing was expensive!! If the new one is even better, I can't imagine where that might end up.

Luckily I'm done with SUVs. I don't feel comfortable in them anymore.

^very true about the price on new Tahoes....ouch. I'm leaning more towards the 'smaller' SUV's (the sporty feel).

Or, if I can find a slightly used Infiniti FX, maybe my wife would prefer to drive that instead of the G...? so many options now.

I may or may not go with the amber tint again this Spring as I play with a new set of LED fogs from Retrofit Source... Sitting here in the corner all winter now. Ive got three things to consider when it gets warmer: fogs, rings and switchbacks. Not really sure yet how I want it to look, but I'm leaning towards going back to what you see in that 3 year old pic.

I like the creamsicle look. I'd like it even better if the headlights were darker, with the little amber 180 decal on the inside.

I've always loved creamsicles.

FYI... I've got an extra pair of headlights just sitting in my garage waiting to be shipped off to 180 for some work.... Just haven't decided exactly what I want to do with them yet... I keep waffling back and forth just like I always do. LOL

Just wait until you drive the SRT Cherokee! You're going to love the combination of power, performance, luxury, and comfort all in one package. My wife and I almost bought a used 2014 SRT Cherokee last Summer after test driving one. We ended up telling a friend about it and she actually promptly sold her G35 coupe and the SRT Cherokee. My wife is still looking for a dog hauler for our two German Shepherds, so we still may end up getting one. Let us know how the test drive goes!

I'm with you on this one, John. The FI exhaust is most definitely considerably louder than the OEM sedan exhaust. So much so that both my wife and I decided that it was too loud and we ended up pulling it off the car shortly after installing it. Now I understand everyone's idea of loud is different and for some it may be perfect, but in comparison to the OEM exhaust it was definitely considerably louder...

Well that's my sedan video and the exhaust is definitely louder than a stock coupe exhaust. Not sure what you guys are going on about here. The best reason to go with the 18" is when you replace the stock cat.

Comparing a cold start to a warm start/started is not even at all. We all know our cold starts are diesel-like.

Not much but just trying to convince a guy that his sweet FI exhaust is not going to be a deal breaker to the wifey (because it's not that loud......)
