yeah man. Its definitely on the list. I have to fix my bumper first though, and unfortunately that will have to wait till spring so I can do it at the cottage.
EDIT: DONE!!! Rochester made me do it in about two days, ill polish it a bit, and then put a thin bead of silicone around the perimeter. The old seal is pretty bad.
Ill take a better photo when the sun is out tomorrow if I dont forget.
Well done, hexotic. All in one evening... does that mean only one coat of paint, and no clear-coat? Either way, it certainly looks better in that blurry photo.
Now that this big chrome trim is no longer chrome, have you considered removing the G37x badge? The rear would balance out, and really isn't every single G Sedan you see up in Ontario another AWD anyway? It would be a subtle thing.
Im afraid there might be salt damage behind the badges, so i wont be debadging till spring when im able to do proper paint repairs if necessary.
As for the chrome trim, I use duplicolor automotive paint and clearcoat. The drying time is about 15 minutes between coats. Sanded a fairly thick layer of chrome off, 4 coats of KH3 Black, and 3 coats of clear. I dont cut corners

Hey hexotic, have you considered wrapping your lower rear bumper in either CF or flat black?
Here's an example of each:
What confuses me about this is that there's no ridges like the window trim or dashboard so getting a precise cut would be somewhat difficult. Unless there's another way?
Rochester is trying to kill me lol.
I thought about it. But figured black on black wouldn't stand out that much. Its a pain in the *** to keep clean as it is, flat black would be even worse lol. I was also thinking of throwing a diffuser on there once I finally splurge on the ARK exhaust. Perhaps in the future.

Bluebat sells pre-cut pieces.
As for getting a precise cut with a large sheet... that takes skills. You could always go to your local Window Tint shop. Places like that often do vinyl wraps as well.

Not at all. Flat black is just as easy to wipe clean as the rest of the car. And since it's flat (or satin), any dirt on it really doesn't show up. I personally think it would provide just the right kind of contrasting shadow against OB, more so than a CF print.
Well, I have a can of satin clearcoat. Perhaps Ill give it a shot when Im able to hit the cottage again next season.
I don't see how that could work, or be anything other than too subtle to notice. But clearly you're the one with painting skills, so have at it. Maybe it will be fantastic, and you'll start a new trend.
Why wait? It's going to be 60* this weekend. That's aboot 15*C for you up North.
Only about 8 C for me, and 4 C where my cottage is, and thats during the ay, -3 at night. Plus it looks like its going to rain the whole weekend too. I can only do small pieces at home in the workshop unfortunately lol. Its ok, gives me something to look forward to haha.
You need a steady temperature of about 15 C + for the paint to properly adhere and not crack afterwards.
