You mean my headlights don't ACTUALLY burn at 8,500 degrees fahrenheit? What else is a lie? Does my car actually run on sunshine and pictures of kittens?

I just had a panic moment when it was pointed out to me how NY adopted CA rules in 2013 in regards to the sale and installation of catalytic converters. After having a long talk with my mechanic this morning, I'm still going forward with the modification. But it really freaked me out.

I need another cup of coffee.

Kelvin, not Fahrenheit. And no, they don't. Silly Wabbit.

What is the rule now? Purchasing and installation of aftermarket catalyst equipment is illegal?

Normally, I'd make a new thread for this question, but there are a lot more eyes on this one. I hope you don't mind.

I've taken my bumper off several times, I noticed there looks like a much smaller cooler in front of and towards the bottom of the radiator. What is it? It's near the tow hook assembly. Is it for the AC?

You can see it here.

it is the foremost cooler, in front of the oil and trans coolers.

"Pure white" is often used to describe the white LED color, I suppose I should say "Hyper-white" as well.

Also, it's worth noting for anyone asking...

Our Stage 1 SMD style LEDs will have slightly more color in them than the Stage 2 or Stage 3 Hi-powered LEDs.

It's due to the differences in lighting technology.

I have 6000K HIDs with our SMD-switchback LEDs and the match is almost perfect. I have found that the Stage 2's and 3's are still a very close match, but appear slightly more white with a bit less color.

Expect to see more comparison photos and detailed tests in 2014. I will be posting updates on all of my vendor threads with more information.

For the time being, feel free to PM me if you need any more information or have questions.

Thanks!
Nick C.

Yes, yearly. OBDC readings and visual inspection, but they don't sniff. IDK who does anymore, because lots of states phased that out. California, maybe?

FI cats would pass the visual inspection, because well, it looks like a cat and "there it is", but not if the visual inspection was looking for the appropriate stamp on the cats. That's the part that has me concerned.

There's no "stamp" on the side of these cats AFAIK, other than the rather obvious branding, which I think I'll sand off:

Looks pretty small to be an A/C cooler. Maybe it's a cooler for power steering fluid?

If all the inspection is visual then have a rubber stamp made with the OEM numbers, get some high temp black paint and stamp the "label" on yourself. Just a suggestion buddy.
