However, after removing the leather on the sides, I was able to sand the gouges in the hardened plastic relatively smooth, then mask it off and primer the black section. Next up, some paint... not sure what color. The point being, I actually salvaged the OEM **** for winter use, if it comes to that.

In the meantime, OMG am I loving this Ti ****!!! It feels so-o-o right in my hand.
Did you have to do anything to secure the new Ti ****? Might just run a length of fishing line in the threads to keep it from vibrating loose (if that's even a problem)

Nope. Just threaded it on tight. It got increasingly tighter towards the end. I hear what you're saying, but that's just not the case. Plus, with it being a symmetrical design, there was no issue about when to stop torquing it down.

I was told the only thing that got louder when using non res is the inside the cabin sound. That's nice and all but I want louder outside the car especially when wide open throttle. I'm also worried about spending 600 bucks on high flow cats while still not being satisfied. Damnit.

My **** also vibrates a little as well ever since I swapped out the OEM, so what you are experiencing is normal IMO. Except my OEM shift **** wasn't destroyed and came off in a few minutes.

Get RHFC and then get a tune. IIRC it'll make your exhaust sound louder. That's what I plan on doing if I decide to keep my G within the next year.

Speaking of shift **** vibration.. my OEM shift **** vibrates as well so it's normal.

I've got $10 that says you'll like my new LatheWerks titanium **** more.

Either of your two planning on a STS in your future? I'm absolutely getting one next Summer.

I'm holding the OEM **** in my hand right now. The leather is just wrapped over some kind of hardened plastic, but the core of the **** is aluminum, and overall it's kind of heavy. Certainly heavier than I thought it would be. If I had a proper scale, I'd measure the two.

Certainly the solid Titanium **** is heavier, no doubt about that.

Anyway, I'm not personally sensitive to this "vibration" observation that those two are talking about. The solid metal **** does have more feedback to vibrations, but not so much as to be noteworthy. IMO.

Interesting. Stupid question, but are the threads of the stock **** plastic or aluminum?

I really don't know about that John haha. We will see about that. About that we will see

and no plans for STS, nor no need for it either... if I switch over to TK Hebi Bebi shift **** it's already shorter and when I drove Kevin's car I thought he had STS as well and it turned out he didnt...

Sad news... I found out last night that they discountinued the TK Hebi Bebi shift ***** and seems like the only way I'm gonna get one is if someone sells it to me used Kevin?

oh and I'm not sensitive to this vibration either, thought I'd just point out the fact that mine vibrates as well with OEM shift ****

Aluminum. Well, I'm assuming it's aluminum. Looks like it to me. From what I can see, it looks like an aluminum core inside a plastic handle, mated to an aluminum base, and wrapped in leather with glue. And that little strip of aluminum trim on the top seems to be also fixed with a Philips head screw at the end of the threads.

Without the leather on the sides, I think the OEM **** is totally re-usable for winter, if it comes to that. Of course, it's also very crude looking now, but not "destroyed" per se.

That looks really good - the wheels work well w/ the drop.
