The little plastic rings? There are four of them in with the lug nuts. What's the point of these rings anyway?

Right now I'm just rolling the wheels around the living room (as my wife laughs at me). I'm getting a weird sense of perspective, and OMG these rears are huge! I know many of you are used to seeing 10" wide rims or wider, but this is a first for me. It's rather breathtaking. I have them lined up front-to-back, left-side/right-side, seeing the spokes swept back in the same direction on both sides... so beautiful.

I need a moment.

 

I was thinking about a mesh grille, but decided the Stillen gen 3 splash shield would look awful behind it, not to mention the gold wrap (which I did for performance, not aesthetics.)

I wish I had something left to do to my car... Basically a done project since FI with 75k miles is a disaster waiting to happen.

Maybe a carbon hood or coupe seats, a sub added to the stock bose, and rear spats if they get made. I need to update my build thread after the mod frenzy that was the past 6 months.

 

Only purpose is to get the wheels perfectly centered during installation.

Those wheels are beautiful. Can't wait to see a pic, especially on a MW.

Those bore adapters just snug everything up and reduce the chance of high speed vibration. Like aktif8 mentioned just one more step in getting things as perfect as can be when the aftermarket bore is larger than OEM. I'm sure Vossen would send some to you for the asking (assuming they stock them).

Guys those rings help keep the aftermarket wheels from vibrating at high speed and not for getting the wheels perfectly centered during installation. They are known as hub centric rings. Glad Vossen is including these with their wheels now because a big complaint in the past of their Wheels was vibration.

 

Rims, Tires, TPMS, mounted and balanced.

I miss my Pontiacs... My favorite job on the farm was tuning up the GTO, my favorite activity was outrunning it in my '72 LeMans with a worked small block 400 and 4MT.

BTW, I weighed them today. With tires, the fronts are 52.5 pounds, and the rears are 56.5 pounds.

After I take my OEM wheels off, I'll weigh them for comparison. Although they're wearing Blizzaks, so it's not apples to apples.

Nice cars BTW. I chose Uprev over EcuTek because after all the research and mind f*cking of the options I called the nearest EcuTek tuner in Miami once again. 5 months ago I was told that in 6 months or so they would be coming out with a newer version that allows you to switch between maps as Uprev does. I called the shop once again earlier this week and was given the 6 month line again. Uprev is a little less refined compared to EcuTek but Uprev offers more versatility (big to me) and is a little bit cheaper. If my car was going to be raced or boosted then I would have went with EcuTek, but it is a DD so Uprev is a better option for me. Plus, my man Anthony @ HP-Logic is great at customer service, he weathered my barrage of questions and didn't seem to mind chatting with me about the tune and car mods. That speaks volumes of a business IMO.
