Oval is not the right shape when doing custom decals , i agree with you rochester what you have said above. Glass is the best option highly recommended.

I would use the rear quarter windows for decals, followed by the top corners of the rear window, then the bottom front windshield corners for small stickers (inspection, parking decal etc).
