Map Upgrade Code

Need your help.
I'm visiting the dealer today to get some key fobs programmed and am toying around with getting the map on my 2009 G37 updated. I received an offer in the mail and forgot to look for it in the mail "pile" (my wonderful wife's highly tuned sorting system).

I caught her on her way out of the house today and she couldn't find it which likely means it was tossed with the rest of the junk mail we receive.

Two questions:
1) Was the offer for $99 or $149? Did any of you receive a similar offer? I ask because I can purchase it for $149 on the web right now.
2) If it was $99 and if there is some kind of special code on the offer, would any of you be willing to share the code with me?

One more question: This dealer wants to charge me $120 to download and install the map (above and beyond the map purchase price). Is that typical? I trust this dealer because they only wanted $65 to program all 4 of my key fobs. Other dealers in the area wanted $120 PER KEY.

I'm going to be unhappy if the update takes them 15 minutes and I get charged for an hour of shop labor.

Thanks,
Brian

I did the map upgrade eariler this year. It's easy to do it yourself, but it takes over 2 hours for all the maps and firmware update to load IIRC.

Sorry, but I don't have any info about a discount code for a $99 map upgrade.

I got the same $149 offer a couple of weeks ago.

Earlier this year they had a special $99 for my '08 coupe and an additional $70 to install it at the dealer.
I mainly use my phone map for navigation so Im just going to wait to see if they have a similar deal for 2014

Op has an 09 - the non dvd based system. The upgrade is not diy-able. The dealer has to so the install through consult and the sd-card interface.

Op: the updates are presently on sale: WWW.infinitinavigation.com

Call a few dealers for a quote. It does take quite a bit of time, but its not labor intensive.

Just returned from the dealer. They did program all of my fobs (and cut two keys) for $65. Also got a free car wash, roast beef pannini, apple, and a bottle of juice. Fields Infiniti in Glencoe is really nice.

They also confirmed $135 in labor for map upgrade so I decided not to do it. Can't justify ~$300 for updated maps although I do know of a few new highway ramps and roads in the Chicago area that are not in the 2008 map version I have.

Thanks for the info.

If you upgrade the maps, does the nearby locations change to the new type of software. On my '08, when I go to nearby locations, it only shows; gasoline, food, atm, and two others. On the 2014 Q50, it lists shopping, hospitals, etc etc. Would a software upgrade change my available locations?

You should be able to edit these to things you prefer.
Settings - Navigation - Other - Customize Nearby Places

^Damn I'm an idiot. I previously never used this function, but I test drove the Q50 yesterday and it had several places listed from the menu. I see that we are limited to 5 destinations, but that's fine. I appreciation your quick response.

I got the same letter for the $149 map update a couple of weeks ago and also got a letter early last year for a $99. map update. I'm just going to wait and see if they send me a reduced price offer and I'll do my best not to get lost.
