Front Bumper/Hood Gap

I recently purchased a 2010 G37x Sedan. I love the car, but noticed a bizarre gap after I purchased the car. It isn't extremely noticeable, but is bothering me now that I know that it is there. The hood is flush against the front bumper except for one area. There is a gap between the center of the hood to a few inches before you get to the hood latch on the drivers side. If the hood latch is adjustable, I'm not sure it would help. I pressed down on the hood where the hood latch resides and still see a gap. The hood is flush the whole way around except for that one area. I'm pretty sure the car was not in any accidents as it had a clean carfax when I purchased it. The only thing that I'm aware that was done was that the dealership where I purchased it from re-sprayed the front bumper, but it looks like it was re-installed correctly. Has anyone seen this before?

Yeah, just try loosening your hood dampers and readjusting them before tightening. Get a friend to help hold it while you tighten the bolts back up. No sweat.

This may be a n00b question, but aren't the dampers in the rear of the hood? How is adjusting something in the rear going to affect the front? Doesn't the latch take care of that?
