New to me 08 G37 Sport
Hi everyone,
I just picked my G a few days ago and its constant rain here in N. Florida so no pics yet but it's an '08 Sport Black Obsidian w/ 60K miles that I got for what I feel was a steal at $13k. When my local credit union has to repo a car they keep it at the bank and try to sell it to their customers before giving up to auction so I always keep my eyes out. After a thorough inspection and a bit of haggling I finally took her home.
I'm coming from an '06 350Z GT with some suspension, aero and N/A mods so it's a little different but still in the family. The worst (or best ) part is that with the Z being a GT I haven't driven a manual in years so getting used to this clutch has proved a bit embarrassing the first couple days. Surprisingly, for a Sport, it has no mods except for being debadged and some awful blue led's in the map lights and doors which were quickly removed. I'm thinking my first improvement will be suspension thinking springs and sways. What are you guy's recommendations for a decent drop and spacer size for the Sport 19's? Just looking to eliminate fender gap nothing crazy. I had Tanabe GF series springs on the Z and they were about perfect, not sure if they have a model for the G though.
Looking forward to chatting with you guys and in the meantime I've got a lot of reading to do!

Congrats and you'll love the G37 S! If you want to stick with springs Eibach pro kit and swift Springs are really popular as far as mild drops, I think Swift are better in my opinion had Eibach pro kit on my coupe and I liked it as well it was a nice drop overall but there's plenty of more choices out there as far as springs. Someone else' maybe can chime in there's lots of useful resources here for help, have fun!

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you found a great deal there.
There's a clutch spring DIY in the DIY folder that may be of interest, seems to get good reviews.
As far as mild drops, Riccio gives good advice, might also consider the Tein Basis coilovers, they are a good option for a milder dropping coil and they're very affordable, just a bit over $600 and w/ the rear camber/toe bolt kit (rather than the rear arms) you can get the whole setup for around $660.
Another mod worth considering is aftermarket sway bars from Hotchkiss, Whiteline, or Eibach.
Enjoy the new G and the site
Brad

Thanks Brad! I was actually just browsing on ZSpeed and they have the Tein Basis on sale for $575 so that sounds like a winner to me. Didn't think to look since, at least for the Z, they were still around $7-800 like time I looked into them. I'm gonna go check out that clutch spring mod too, maybe a nice little weekend project.

Congrats & welcome to the site.
I got the exact same G and love it
As Ricio1991 suggested - if you want to stick with springs, Eibach pro kit will be one of the choices....that's what I got with the F/R camber kits and really like the drop.
Can't wait to see some pics
