Difference between G and Q

My G37xs is due in couple of months. I test drove the Q50 . Its a great car but does anybody notice how much smaller the trunk is? The height of trunk is greatly reduced. that's a huge deal breaker for me, I use the car for work and need the trunk space.. I might go over to the dark side and move up to Beamer 5 series now..

I did notice the trunk height is smaller and I've 'heard' it is even more reduced for the hybrid but somehow it may not be a deal-breaker for most people but everyone does have their own priorities. How many dead hookers do you need to fit in there anyway?

What exactly are you trying to fit in the trunk?

if you're looking at the 5 series that is M territory, 3 series trunk is probably comparable to the Q. And if you'll be switching to the dark side, you'll want to know: beamer = bmw motorcylce, bimmer = bmw car

The trunk height is reduced because of the single canister exhaust I believe. Similar to what the current G coupe's have which is why their trunks are only about 16 inches deep.

Interesting...do you know if its a y setup to the muffler? Damn the exhaust prices are gonna be monstrous.

Remove the Spare tire and the shroud in there. It will give you 4 inches of depth. Its an added option and you dont need it, Q50's come with run flats.

Not sure to be honest, I've never seen an undercarriage shot and haven't found a dealer who has one up on a lift to take a look.

I think it opens a lot of possibilities to retrofit a current G coupe exhaust. There's usually a few threads a month with people asking how to make their sedan sound like a coupe.
