Wannabe,
?? To the best of my knowledge, a Journey (RWD) sedan with a Sport Package is a full blown sport (with a 7AT). Meaning it has the big brakes, sport suspension, staggered summer tires, quick ratio steering, etc. That is how you get an Automatic Sport, right? The "Sport Appearance" version is the xS.
Or do you consider anything with an Automatic not a real Sport?

If my understanding is correct, the AWD Sport package omits the larger brakes and suspension changes, but includes all of the Sport appearance items like wheels, seats, pedals, etc.
On the RWD, the Sport package is a steal for the extra 2k being charged. The only problem is that it requires the Premium and Nav packages, so it drives the price up quick. On the first gen, the sport package was available as a stand-alone item, which is a preference for me. I hate that the sunroof I never plan on using has so many vibrations and rattles coming out of it.

However, that's not an easy car to find. So I resigned to suffer through my loaded 2011. I know that sounds silly, but in all honesty I'd be happy to do without Nav and the moonroof and all the gadgets. I just wanted a quality driver's car w/4drs, not an entry level luxmobile.
^ you are right, not easy to find an '09 6MT with those specs. when i was looking in 2010, the only '09 6MT sedan i could find locally (or anywhere in Canada) was non-Navi. all Canadian 6MT's came with Premium standard - the only option was Navi. i didn't need Navi, so this local car could have worked, but it was white on beige. i didn't mind the white but the beige wasn't working for me. i ended up with my fave combo - blue slate on black - after buying my G off a fellow myG37 forum member from MD!
That is correct, socketz. And exactly the reason why (almost 2 years ago) I was looking for a 2009 6MT Sedan without Premium & Nav. Those luxury packages were not a required component of the 2009 model 6MT Sedan.

All the vibrations and velcro sounds coming from the moonroof on the new car make me crazy. Even though I do not use the Navigation, I wanted it because I think in-car navigation is one of those features that will soon become obsolete (makes more sense to use your cell with a dedicated HUD), so I wanted to own a car with it before it is no longer available.
