Help wanted with a glove compartment rattle.
Help wanted with a glove compartment rattle.
The glove compartment on my 2009 G37x has gotten a bit loose, and does not close tightly enough to prevent a rattle. Ooh, it bugs me. Does anyone know how to tighten it up to the dash?
That's a standard feature on all G's lol. I took mine to the dealer and they put a sound absorbing strip which did absolutely nothing. Anyway, I traded the car in and so far no rattles on the new one but then again I only had it for a week so I will give it time I'm sure the rattles will come.
Well, I haven't really had much difficulty with rattles, other than a seatbelt receptacle. But this glove box rattle is beating me over the head. I hope I don't have to go to the dealer to get it fixed. But if no one around here knows how, I may be forced.
Go to the DIY section of the forum, there's a writeup in the sticky section on how to replace your cabin filter. In it, they show you all the screws that secure the glove box to the dash. I would go in and check to make sure they're all nice and tight before you take it in to the dealer and pay some mechanic 125 dollars to "diagnose" with a phillips head screwdriver.
Thank you very much--that helped a lot. After watching the video, I tightened a few screws and pressed on a couple of areas that were rubbing together when the door was closed, and that seems to have helped quite a bit.
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate you.
