some questions for expert modders
^ 50whp is highly optimistic, but that's not the point. the G comes with plenty of power out of the box. unless you live life a 1/4 mile at a time, a bit more power is of marginal use on a daily driver. where the spirited driving enthusiast will really notice improvements with the G is on handling prowess. being better able to harness the G to fully exploit the already stout powertrain is a more useful "gain". if a guy was to take a nice drive up/down his favourite twisty road, improved handling will prove to be more of an asset than will an extra 15, 20, 25 real-world horsepower.
the OP has the AWD, which lacks a lot of the suspension (or other performance) upgrades of the S, plus it likely has the crappy RS-A tires. there is no question he is best served by addressing those issues first. like they say, power is nothing without control.
plus, sways and tires are extremely easy to swap out at the lease end. they are also economical. $1k will get a killer set of tires and sways. then if his heart is really set on a sound mod, he can throw on an intake for gits and shiggles.

These kinds of threads are eye-rollers, and typical. I've got money to spend, but on the cheap. I want power, but not loud. What kind of gains... blah blah blah. And so on and so forth. So for all that noobish silly, it's really nice to see someone say something rational and realistic. You get thanked for that, canucklehead.

How many of you guys are really going to push your car hard enough in a corner (on the streets) for the sway bar to actually make a difference? Suspension mods on the G37 are a great investment but only for someone who can actually push their car in corners, and by that I mean break traction often. Its more likely a novice or average driver will notice power gains from bolt on engine mods than cornering improvement from suspension mods.

Suspension modifications are beneficial and appreciated in every aspect of driving, not just when you're on the edge of traction. Whereas power mods are only something you can utilize and appreciate when digging for more power. In the context of daily driving, handling mods > power mods in every moment of driving. Well, except when parked.

and then some good tires.
After that you can think about bolt-on engine mods (maybe a Motordyne M370 and an UpRev tune) or an exhaust. For the G37X consider the FI CB exhaust http://www.fastintentions.com/produc...products_id=77 with some test pipes or HFC's

I'm no expert but I have to agree with the guys that pick handing mods over power mods. I keep seeing people suggesting the Uprev Tune. After I installed the sways and springs, I gave them a call and ask what kind of gains I could expect. They told me that unless I completely modify the intake and exhaust, the tune is a worthless and expensive mod yet I keep seeing that mod mention without nothing that it should only be done combined with intake and exhaust mods.
