G37X new tire suggestions?

I am looking to go a plus '0' as well with the 235/55/17 on my 2012 G37x...have you guys had any problems with with the slightly larger size. I assume not but thought I had better ask some of the guys that have done it.

What are the pro's/con's of the plus zero tire size? I am torn between The Continental Pure Contact W/Eco Plus and the Extreme Contact DWS. I had the DWS on the 2.0T Jetta I traded for the G37X and loved them. The way the G's eat tires I wanted something comparable with a little better tread life. The stock RSA's have 23,000 miles on them are are 3-5/32. The negative camber has eaten a tire up front on the inside sidewall. I bought the car with 17,000 miles knowing it would need tires soon. This is my second G. I had a 2006 G35 Coupe that had the performance/suspension package with the staggered 19" wheels. Loved that car....
The stock 7.5" 17s can handle up to a 255 width on a standard mount (not stretched or pinched). This calculator should be used when trying new sizes

It's best to keep your new sizes as close to OEM diameter as possible.
OEM being 225/55/17, you can run 245/50/17 that will be almost identical to the 225/55 diameter.
If you do a lot of snow driving the 225s will cut through better than the 245s so that's a consideration.

I had basically decided on one of 2 tires in the 225 size....Continental DWS or HanKook Ventus 1 Noble 2. Both have excellent rankings on tirerack, and relatively high treadwear life numbers on the UTQG...and both are Ultra High Performance All-Season. I can't get the Hankook in 245/50-17 unfortunately, and the 245/50-17 Continental are overpriced IMHO. I'll probably go with the stock size on my next set unless things change.

These Sport Edition 18s would be a good fit, new on tirerack they're about $150 each, and you could run 245/45/18 summer tires

Regarding those Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 tires:
17" $108
18" $153
19" $210
As you can see, 2" of tire almost doubles the price. Also, not sure if Tirerack is doing anything special for the 17", perhaps that's a really popular size and is priced more aggressively due to volume sales.
Perhaps someday, I'll indulge in some lightweight 18" rims...but I don't see 19" in my future.
Just ordered my third set for my X. I'll be running 245/40/19 all around. Currently in a Hankook V12 and just ordered Toyo Proxes 4's.
Can't remember what sizes I have on the sport sedan wheels I used to run. I suppose I really should try and find a buyer for them.

I went with the General G-Max AS-03 in a wider tire for the 17" rim. 245/50/17. I have an 09 G37x. It handles way better but gives up some quietness. From the back of my G the wider tires really give the car a more aggressive look. 225/55/17 tires just aren't enough for a car with 328HP. General is made by Continental and the G-Max tire is almost identical to the Conti DWS. Tires cost me $540 mounted and balanced. I can take some pics if you would like to see how the wider stance looks. Also, the 245/50/17 size is totally in the range for the G37x stock 17" rims. *per Tire Rack and Fort Wayne Infiniti

I just today did a little "after a year of ownership" review on the pilot sport A/S 3 (strangely it was moved out of this forum), but anyway, they have my vote, for both initial performance and at least one year long durability.

Any updates?
I know this thread is a little old but I’m curious as if anyone had any updates. I’m moving out to Cali and am looking for new All Season tires as I’m hoping to take the car to the mountains. My G37x Sedan tire specs are 225/50/18 with the upgraded wheel package. I’ve heard Michelin’s are great but I’m open to any and all recommendations. I have a pretty lengthy highway commute everyday (1.5 hrs) and would classify myself as a spirited driver. Looking to find something that will last, is relatively quite and has all around good handling. Thanks in advance for the rec’s!
