Expensive (very) Insurance To Consider?

USAA offers a 12 month policy for about $2100 but it's about $500 a month for 4 months. They're great usually and they rate high so if USAA says Assurant is a good insurer for Mechanical Breakdown Coverage/Insurance maybe it would be fine to have for a year.

Great is that I'm barely eligible while the cut off is 115k miles.

Expensive though!

Would it be worth it to anyone else? I'm thinking about it since I'm not guaranteed to be that liquid on my auto repair fund if ya' know what I mean.

Covers things you would want covered.

Are you having buyer's remorse or something? Go drive your car. If it blows up, it blows up ,but if what you say about the previous owners is accurate this car should run well in to the 200k+ mark.

I'd pass on this, most non-factory warranties have pretty good fine print that can bail them out of most high dollar repairs. I agree w/ fennsta, just drive it, if you run into trouble there's sources for decent transmissions and motors should a worst case scenario occur. I've got a hunch you're not a gambler

Warranties are always there to make money off you. Unless your car blows up, you usually never recoup your money back. First rule of buying a car. Never say yes to the extended warranty.

Okay okay I'll skip it. I already have cash enough for a transmission fix and that is really the only immediate (to do it on my time) concern. The wheel bearing pisses me off and it is the only major repair needed. A door won't lock in the back unless manually. I did try and be very careful but as these things go you usually learn something new when buying a car --not saying we all get screwed. I didn't get ripped off but they knew about this wheel bearing pack because the rotor was resurfaced and if it was discovered with the wheel off I can't imagine it not being found. Possible though.

I'll relax when I know it is reliable or at least safe. Getting the wheel done over the weekend.

what is wrong with your transmission anyways that is causing you to worry so much about it?

What does your 'normal' insurance cost per month? $75 to $150/mo?
If you could potentially swing $500/mo for 4 months, you've likely just covered the cost of most mechanical problems, right out of your own pocket.

Why hand your hard earned cash to an insurance/warranty company. Put money away each month for the vehicle. Basically insure yourself.

The best idea. I agree.
