Looks good, do you have a link to the site you got these from?

Nope. Some random ebay seller from Taiwan or Hong Kong or whatever. Pretty standard stuff. Search on eBay for "194 Wedge Amber LED", and buy a bunch, because like I said earlier, most eBay LED's don't last.

They look like this: Oh hey, US Seller! LOL

Here's another real cheap mod. Stitch in some contrasting thread into the shift boot.

Cost: $3

Thanks for the cheap mod ideas. I just got my Silver g37 a few months ago and I'm looking forward to playing around with it. Id really like to try blacking out the chrome and wheels with vinyl or dip but I figure I had better wait until I get some tint on the windows. Has anyone done DIY window tinting? I feel like that may be a job best done by the pros (or at least someone with a little experience).

That's one job best left for the pros, they'll stand behind their work if there's any issues, and the overall cost isn't much for a job that should look good for the life of your car. Just check around, ask your friends for a good shop and you should get a nice install

Pretty nice thread, especially for gathering ideas. I find it funny we call it a poor mans car thread because overtime if you spend ~$50 on several parts, it's going to add up. Part of the experience of being a car guy I guess - they will always spend your money.

I'd kind of like to see how they look with the wood trim. Has anyone with wood trim installed them?

I got a bag of 20 super white LEDs off ebay for $4, had them in my G since I got it, and had the same exact bulbs in my last car for over 2 yrs. They've lasted quite awhile.

Get single filmament bulbs for your amber lights in the headlights (next the grill), if you have them. Looks better IMO than staying lit while driving. They still do their purpose to flash when needed.

I like plasti dip here and there, but not black and not on wheels. My grill and rear lower portion of my bumper are done in anthracite and a heavy gloss coat. Has held up for 7 months now.

Painted brakes, if you get what you need the first time to the store, then you can walk out with a $40 expense and lovely brakes.

Remove the hood liner to let out more intake sound. Free.

And for an added bonus its about a 1 pound weight reduction.

This is a great thread! I will defiantly be giving the color thread on the shifter. Just installed my LED replacement bulbs from Diode Dynamics yesterday, they were worth every penny!

Also going to have to look into the carbon fiber dip, love the look

Thanks for the ideas!
