Another G Totalled

So looks like this is it for my beloved 2009 G.

Got rear-ended by a minivan on the freeway during morning commute hours. Driver was too distracted by police activity on the other side of the freeway. The force of the impact pushed me into the car in front of me, so there is some damage on the front too.

Insurance declared it total loss based on revised estimate from body shop.

Now the dilemma - jump on a deal on 2013 XS or try to wait until June for Q50, or look at Audi/BMW ....

Audi S4 sure would be a nice replacement.

Glad you are okay and the crumple zones did their job. I, personally, would wait to compare the Q50 to the German offerings.

I agree. I love the S4, if its in your price range it should be a contender for sure!

Agree w/ the S4, the 2013 XS would be a refresh but the S4 would be an upgrade. Good luck w/ whatever you choose, sorry about the mishap but glad no injuries occurred, damn distracted drivers

Glad to see that you're ok.

It just boggles my mind on how people have to gawk. If its that damn important for them to see whats going on, pull over safely on the shoulder and walk up to the scene.

The A4 is a dull looking car marketed to business creatures. The interior is boring and uninspired, IMO. And unless you get the S4, you're going to lose it in the parking lot.

The current G, while still appealing, is rapidly becoming dated. After 6 years, it's no wonder. And unless you get the RWD-Sport, you're going to lose it in the... well, you get the picture.

The BMW 3-series is almost always a good choice, although pricey. But unless you get the 335i or 335is, I suspect you're not going to appreciate the performance coming from a G37.

I think you should get a 12 month lease on an Altima, then buy/lease the new Q50 (or Q50 Hybrid) when it's established.

S4 or a 335. Actually, the 328 is not a bad performing car also. it is only marginally slower than the G, but gets way better mpg.

Or check swapalease or leasetrader to see if you can get some nice car for a short period while waiting for the Q, IS, etc..

We just bought a new Audi, and it's AMAZING. Not an S4, mind you, but we did get the 3.0T engine, along with the 8AT. There is simply no comparison between the quality and interior material between the Audi and the Infinti. In every respect, the Audi simply dominates. In fact, they're probably the best of the three main German brands.

Out G is no slouch. Other than the crap 7AT, I still very much enjoy it, and being that it's been paid off for years, it's not going anywhere for a long time.

However, if I were going out to be a premium sport sedan tomorrow. Audi would be the very first choice on my list.

The hyperbole is strong in this one.

Agreed 100% The 2010 G is paid off, so I guess it's here to stay. We have a 2011 Audi A6 3.0T with the 6 speed and quattro. Flawless in every way. But that lease is coming to an end in less than a year. I previously had an 2006 A3 that I sold and bought the G. 2 months ago, bought a 2013 A3 with DSG again and was questioning why I ever sold it in the first place. DSG still remains the best transmission I've driven to date.
