Yep, good luck w/ your new ride OP, better luck next time. No need to assume Infiniti is a crap brand though. Every vehicle EVER made has a few that have issues, and Infiniti as a whole has far fewer issues than most brands and particularly the G lineup. I'm on my 2nd G, first one now has over 90k miles and my current one has 50k without a single issue other than a sunroof rubber finisher that was replaced and a couple Transmission software updates.
BTW OP, what car are you considering?

True, but that happens in rare cases, and an out of balance drive shaft can seriously cause breakage and much more damage at higher speeds resulting in extensive repairs.

Thumbs down

It is good to hear positives and negatives (bashing...)..... probably right...I got a lemon...but Infiniti service should have been able to fix it....that is was really pisses me off. I have put up with this for almost four years. This is not a million dollar car and it is not a cheap car either....based on this I expect a comfortable ride on the high-way.

I am open to suggestions ...what else is good in the market?

Thanks

The IS 350 from Lexus is pretty nice. Volvo S60. BMW 335i. Mecedes C350.

If it were me looking to buy, I'd go drive a number of different makes/models and make a decision.

I liked my 04 G35 so much I got an 11 G37. Not sure what I will get next, but I am happy with my current G.

Have you heard of never buy first year? You didn't bother to make it specific what problems you had with it.

The car puts smile on my face every time I drive it.

OP rented a lemon... bummer. My 6MT is the best damn car I've ever owned (or rented). Nissan designs a really good product. They just do.

But you know, people who whine like this as they leave the room aren't worth the effort to complain about nor commiserate with. Good riddance.

Mods should just delete this thread. It serves no purpose at all.

4 years? Should have checked local lemon laws 3 years ago. Good luck!

Your mistake was 1: buying a sedan and 2: getting the X. If you want an all-wheel drive, buy an Audi. BMW, Lexus and Infiniti X's are all crap!

Ouch, I have an X (well my wife drives it most of the time) and i like it a lot, no issues at any speed.
As for buying an AWD, i've owned an AWD A4 (not much pep) and current drive AWD 3 series BMW (my car, the wife isn't aloud to drive it). It is hard to compare them because they are all very different even though they are in the same general class. Infiniti(2012) i would say has the most Power, while smooth riding (softer suspension even with hotchkis). BMW (2010) better feel for the road (corners better), quieter.
While i think there are pro's and con's with both, i'm very happy with both and don't regret either purchase. They Audi A4 wasn't great, though i may go with an A6 next and give Audi another shot, we'll see.

To each their own....I'm on my second G37x. Liked the first one...no problems, decent at everything I wanted it to do. Hope the 2013 I just picked up is as good.

It's luck some are bulletproof with nothing but regular maintenance, oil changes & brakes.

It can happen with any brand, especially if your not on your best when putting the car together.

The grass is always greener, I had trouble but, I had 2 bad accidents so the car was never the same.

Not basing the g, I really had alot of love even with the problems I had.

Good luck on whatever you decide on.
