New Owner - Clutch Chatter??
New Owner - Clutch Chatter??
I just bought a 6-speed Infiniti G37s sedan and absolutely love it. Used to have a 6-speed 2005 G35 coupe and there is a big difference is clutch chatter? It is also a bit more difficult to feather into 1st gear.
Is this normal?

The sweet spot for no chatter is right around 1600 rpm....when you feel chatter at the top, push on the clutch pedal to lower it a TEEEEENY BIT, like a centimeter, and you will see there is less chatter. You have to master the finesse of chatterless first gear.

The pedal engagement point is small and high (off the floor). If you're not used to this, it can result in sloppy take offs. If you're used to driving a honda or vw type manual, the nissans have quite the learning curve.
