Very quick backup camera question
Searched for this on the forum and in my Owners manual PDF file - could not find an answer.
2009 G37s sedan
Does the backup camera have a beep noise for when you are close to an object? If yes, how do you turn the function on and off?
Thank you

Sorry, let me rephrase the question properly. My camera does NOT make a beeping noise when I am backing up. I would like it to from now on. Does anyone know how to turn this function back ON?
Haha - Thank you!

I have a 2012, don't know how much different it is between the 2009. I have the option to turn on/off and adjust the sensitivity of the sensors. As said earlier, if you have the sensors, you should have the options to turn on/off.

Try pressing settings, then guidance. I'm too lazy to get off my a$$ to go look

The back-up sensors are not part of the back-up camera. They are two separate entities. Do you have the back up sensors on your lower rear bumper? If so, then you should be able to control the settings (beeping, sensitivity, etc). However having the back-up camera without the rear sensors you will not be able to get the beeping.
I believe in the 2010+ years the back-up sensors were part of the premium(?) package. The back-up camera is standard on all models from 2010 and on. I'm not too sure about 2009 though. Just look at your back bumper and you can tell.

The backup sensors (sonar) are not part of the backup camera, they're those 4 bumps you have on your back lower bumper.
As for turning them off, like its been said one of the 3 keys on the lower left that turn off the VDC and open the trunk.
As for WHY, i'd guess the only reason you'd wan to turn those off is if you're hauling a trailer and don't want it going nuts.
