Whereto after G37?

After having an early model G37S for some time and wondering what I could possibly move up to in the Nissan / Infiniti line ... It just had to happen. We now own a GT-R (2013) and wow, what a difference and yes, a perfect next set for any G37S owner - with some track experience.... Yes, we tracked the G37S for a year .... In So Cal at Auto Club Speedway (Roval), Willow Springs, Buttonwillow and even at High Plains Raceway in Colorado ... But the GTR? Since we bought it, we are taking it easy and it's now our daily drive ...

Who else thinks the GTR represents the next step up?

From the Coupe? Absolutely. IDK about the Sedan. I mean, even in 6MT trim, the G37 Sedan is basically an everyday driver.

Either way, I wouldn't describe your move as the "next" step. Two or three steps up, maybe.

Yeah... from a 40k car to a 95k car is a few steps up, IMO as well.

Excellent choice, happy driving, and may the po-po not be around when you're gettin' on it.

I'm surprised you see it that way, bud.

Just being realistic. The GTR is designed from the ground-up as a high-tech, world-class sports car, whereas the (non-AWD) Sport Package on the G37 simply adds some needed (and appreciated) sport performance upgrades to a basic four-door that has a relatively strong engine for its class of car.

Another way to look at it... the family and I just wrapped up all 100+ episodes of Top Gear on Netflix, and from that point of view, the G just doesn't rate. Godzilla rates.

No, I meant G coupe vs sedan. I think the sedan punches above its weight class while the coupe below...

GT-R is a different class where comparison IMO makes little sense.

Yes. Totally agree on both points.

Now let's see pictures of this new GT-R... just because. C'mon, OP, show it off.

My next car will be a GTR, but its probably going to be a couple of years before I have enough to buy it new. I currently have a G37S sedan 6MT and its my daily driver and I love it.

WOW, Congrats on the GT-R. I wish I could move up to a car like that. Owning Nissan cars for 24 years for me and now my first Infiniti G37X I think I am at the end of the moving up...Can't go up any higher and don't want to go any lower....Enjoy your GT-R as I am sure you will.

That's a huge upgrade, love those cars. Next trip to Vegas I'm going to take a few hot laps at the track there in a GT-R, they've got a bunch of hot cars to choose from but I'm going straight to the GT-R . This is a car I would love to own and in a couple years I may be able to get a 3-4 year old used Godzilla that may fall in my price point.
C'mon Pics ASAP!!!

The GT-R is too quiet stock, throw on a meisterchaft exhaust and that thing will roar!

Not sure I would take the hit buying a new GT-R, but have been eyeballing them for a while now. Starting to see the 2009/2010's drop into the 50's, so becoming more appealing...

I'm with Rochester. A GT-R is a wee bit more than a step up from a G.

Too bad the new GT-R isn't still $70k. This Chart Shows How The Nissan GT-R's Price Has Skyrocketed 35% In Five Years
