The later 10+ models did not get the adaptive headlights. I believe only 07-09 did.

Interesting. I had an 07 without tech package... No adaptive lights.

Correct. Tech Pkg on 08 was adaptive headlights, Intelligent Cruise Control, and seat belt pre crash tensioners.

As long as the lens is such that the LED strip is a continuous, clean strip of white light, then I rather like the look.

It's that original pearl-necklace of LED lights that looks really tacky to me.

Which is why I shook my head at Lexus going out route. Copycats over there. I used to have a IS350 but things went downhill when they did the LEDs and copy Infiniti on the interior clock.

Autozone kiddies with their stick-on LED strips aside, the OEM fad really came to an end for me when I saw Nissan advertising their 2013 Sentra with LED crap in the headlight lenses. Really, this is just embarrassing. I'm sure the designers had a gun to their head, and were forced to do this upon threat of unemployment. Personally, I would have refused and dared them to fire me.

Same goes for that lame grille.

Otherwise, the new Sentra is a fine little car for its segment. It's just the bling... it's so horrendous and wrong.

I use to prefer the "pearl necklace" LEDs to the more "glow stick" looking ones, but after everyone has started jumping on the bandwagon, so to speak, I am starting to like the glow stick better. Much cleaner. My only request is they don't change the style of them every year or so like Audi and Mercedes do.

+1

I also prefer the continuous strip like the '13 A5 or BMW 4 series concept. The necklace LEDs will make the Q50 look cheap. If Infiniti wants this model to lead the rebranding it better not look or feel cheap.

"Glow stick". That describes it well. That's what I'm going to call it from know on.

Those headlights look amazing! I want to see this kind of mod for the G37 headlights. Although i think it would look better on the bottom of the G37 headlights instead of on the top.

I'm sure they don't want to go the route Lexus and Honda went. Lexus IS, GS, RX and the new Honda Accord all went that route.

Eager to see how the new "Q50" will look from those teasers.
