Just a flat black, but I will keep the entire tip stainless silver. Just rather draw attention to the tips rather than the cans, they don't look bad but w/ my otherwise dark G they stand out a bit more than I like.

Good move. I would do the same in your case.

Use VHT high temp enamel. It will last longer.

I've had great luck w/ VHT paint on my calipers so I'll definitely get their even higher temp spray for those cans.

I had this same problem and took it to the dealer (still under warranty) and they found a rock had somehow made its way up into the heat shield. No more rattle now! They even gave me the rock they removed to prove it!

Got my FI installed at very reputable shop 2 weeks ago. I notice a rattle sound when I first start car and back out. Every so often I hear it while stopped. Has anyone found any info on this rattle?

Ah crap I got the rattle sound. I only hear it with window down and going over bumps. Sounds like a flat piece of metal flapping underneath engine. Now that I know about it, its annoying.

Mine is under partial throttle and load. Specific RPMs. Dealer 1 couldn't find it and another wanted to charge me just to take it for a ride and listen for it! Needless to say, I'm not going back to dealer 2 for anything. Might go back to first dealer and ride with them to show the sound.

ashmostro would be interesting to find out what dealer you were referring too? Want to make sure I keep away from them as well as I am in the MD/VA area. PM if you don't want to post publicly.

Did you ever find a solution to the rattle ashmostro? Over the past few weeks I've noticed a rattle/knock at a specific rpm while accelerating. Plan to bring it to the dealer, but always good to have an idea of what it might be.

Yup it was the two secondary Helmholtz resonators that live down below the headlight area. Remove the two bolts in the front frame area and pull them out from the top- they rattle when they aren't connected to the OEM air boxes anymore!

=/ doubt this is my issue since I still have the stock air box. Appreciate the input though. The more reading I've done I think it's the VVEL, makes a loud knock noise sometimes under load (usually driving up a large grade). Was terrible yesterday, drove it up hills on the way to work this morning trying to replicate the sound for a video and it was acting completely normal, no sound at all. Checked the oil and it's at the full mark, mobile 1 synthetic less than 4k miles and ~7 months old. Needs to be changed but doubt that's the issue. Also using Shell 93 gas. Drives me crazy because I can't replicate it, maybe it's just normal though and I'll learn to live with it.
