Back in March 2010 I purchased my first Infiniti - a used 2007 G35 Sport. Sold that in January 2011 for a new Acura TSX. Biggest mistake. Will never go FWD again. So, now I am back! Picked up a new 2012 G37 Sport with Premium, Navigation, and Spoiler/midnight black grill. Yes, it is auto. Had the full range of colors available, but Smokey Quartz really caught my eye. You hardly ever see this color and I have never seen it with Sport. Depends on what angle the sun is shining - sometimes looks gray, sometimes looks copper/brown. Had to have Graphite interior.
Very nice return to the G line, agreed about FWD, just feels like a "neutered" version of a sport sedan
Nice color choice, do you have any mods on your mind yet?

No mods. Dealer added tint...does that count...ha?! Will only have this for a max of 18 months (lease) then the plan is to hop into a new redesigned 2014. Just could not stand the Acura for another year and a half.
another 18mth lease. they are giving those away now. great color choice. definitely a unique and rare color.
They really are giving them away! If anyone is considering a short term lease to hold them until the new ones arrive, I would definitely recommend!
And for us TX people that have the pleasure of usually getting taxed on the whole price of the vehicle - Infiniti is doing tax credits which eliminates all sales tax. That's 2500 bucks just right there. Combine that with a great residual (77% for 12k miles) and nearly 0 interest (.00001 MF) and cars selling below invoice then less rebates...how can you pass it up!?
If anyone in TX needs one, let me know and I can refer you.

Can you explain details on the tax credit thing? I have not heard this. In VA we have the same thing...taxes are 3% upfront and are rolled into the lease so they up the cap cost.
I lived the same experience. Had a 04 G35 for 5 years. Sold it to my father & bought a 2008 TL. Hated every minute in that car even though it looked great with 19" wheels & blue LED. Just hated the FWD & felt unsafe every panic stop. Poor performance for a 3.5 so I sold it & bought a 2012 G37 sport. The test drive got me as I didn't want to get out & drive my TL, so I bought it the same day. Can't believe I waited this long as I am now very happy & confident behind the wheel again. That's what it's all about!
That's a nice color & I'm jealous of your grill.

In Texas, sales tax is calculated on capitalized cost. There are only a few states that do this (New York and Illinois are others that I know do this). So basically, your tax would be the same as if you were buying the car. In the remaining states, sales tax is only calculated on the depreciated part of the vehicle (or the part you are paying for). This has nothing to do with whether they are rolled in upfront at signing. I am not sure what VA tax laws are...

Question. Your front midnight grill and rear spoiler, was that part of the package deal? Or did you add them additionally yourself? Just curious..
They both came with the car from the factory and shown on the window sticker together as an option. I think it was an ~$800 option for both?
