They're only 4" long, so you can readily see them as an add-on. They angle downward at a 5-10* pitch, and on my car, were hardly centered to the bumper.

Anyway, I'm none too fond of them, and for a while now have been trying to figure out a simple solution that would make me happier with the tips, without breaking the bank on a whole new exhaust...

...which I do want! But eventually, just not right now. So here's my answer:

  1. A pair of Magnaflow Stainless Steel, 3.5", single-wall tips with a 45* slash-cut. ($52 shipped, from MagnaflowDepot.com)
  2. A couple hours at a trusted and skilled mechanic, $100 + tax (because he likes me. Go figure.)
My total: $160 start to finish. Here are the before/after pictures.

For my G sedan do I need the exhaust tip to be 2.25 inlet or a little bigger.

The only compromise here is that at a straight-on perspective, the tips are almost invisible, because of the single-wall design. However, as soon as you move one way or the other, that goes away. And personally, I think the profile is beautiful. Particularly with the 45 degree cut, which I think really accents the bumper well.

Here are a few more pictures.

So did you have to grind down your exhaust some to make your tip fit on.

I'm feeling the need to un-sub from my own thread.

Hey rochester, any idea of a tip that looks similar to the Stillen tips? I really want to go with the Tanabe exhaust, but hate their tips. I think Stillen by far has the best looking tips on an exhaust, and would love ones similar to those.

Stillen does have a very nice, OEM-ish look to their cans & tips.

But I can't help you, Arrogant. And now that I'm in my happy place with my Fast Intentions exhaust, I find myself thinking about tips less and less, and less...

I've got the Tanabe too and do not like the tips either. Too large and boy racerish.

I felt that the Tanabe's were just a waste of time, just my .02Ȼ

^^^
Dealing with fugly tips was one of the reasons I backed away from the ARK Grip catback, in favor of Fast Intentions.

These Sebring Tuning tips are freaking beautiful.

Best exhaust tips in my opinion are from this dealer - RedTail Performance.

I just ordered the RTP-011 that are same oval style at OEM but a little larger with a mirror finish.
