  1. A pair of Magnaflow Stainless Steel, 3.5", single-wall tips with a 45* slash-cut. ($52 shipped, from MagnaflowDepot.com)
  2. A couple hours at a trusted and skilled mechanic, $100 + tax (because he likes me. Go figure.)
My total: $160 start to finish. Here are the before/after pictures.

Hey man what's the length on that tip.

My mechanic cut and welded them to fit, so IDK the final length. IIRC, the original parts were 18", so more than half was cut away for the project.

Had those tips for 3 years, until a couple weeks ago, when it was all replaced with a Fast Intentions catback.

Agreed. The FI tips look fantastic from every angle.

Funny, too, because even though I'd seen them in person before, it took ownership for me to really appreciate them.

Hey Rochester,

thanks for posting this thread! I agree about the stock tips looking like clip ons.... LOL.

I appreciate your measurements, since it helped me narrow down some choices of aftermarket tips to put in place of the stocks.... I want to keep the stock mufflers for sound purposes, but increased the muffler inlet tubing just to create more flow - I believe it's about 10-12" of tubing from the midpipe connection point. I'll snap some pictures once everything is done this weekend.

Hacksaw? Torch?

Another option is to install tips that come with an exhaust system attached to them.

Here's current state:

So it is welded on cause I got the chrome piece off but the other part won't come off. How much would you recommend to cut off.

The SS wrapper is spot-welded on, so you snapped the little welds, I'm guessing.

Leave a nub... 1/2", 1.0". Weld the new tip over it directly to the can. That's the easiest approach, IMO.
