STownSaint,

I went from a xS with a 7AT to a 6MT. I agree that driving the cars is a totally different experience. From my point of view, the 6MT is more fun, more engaging to drive - basically drives like true sports car. Handling is better, no question, even with the 18's on the xS. My wife sees it exactly the opposite - to her the xS was smoother, and drove much more like a $40K car. Part of the smoothness is the auto, part the suspension. I expected worse gas mileage from the 6MT but actually I am averaging about 2mpg higher in the manual. So ... it's my car, not my wife's ... but it does illustrate that people can still like performance but not like as hard core as the 6MT.

My wife can't drive manual. My car is a manual... See what I did there?

Actually it's handy that my wife can drive a manual ... sometimes I need to borrow her SUV for hauling things.

STown,

Did you try an RJM pedal? Helped me a lot - still not a BMW clutch, but better.

The clutch return spring made the car exponentially easier to drive.

+1

The RJM Clutch Pedal Assembly is still on my list of future mods, but that little spring is the best $20 you can spend on a 6MT G or Z.

BMW is known for their "slushbox" feel. Although our grab is high and spring is heavy its a more distinguished feel compared to most vehicles.
Shrugs. Love at first touch if that applies haha.

Makes me wonder... doesn't RJM pedal void any warranty when something goes wrong with the clutch or anything related that could be done under warranty otherwise ?

pdp, doesn't apply to me, was one of the more annoying clutches I've driven. But if you like it, more power to you.

Mik3, depending on your dealer, it might be a risk if anything goes wrong with the clutch actuation system. I kept my old pedal assembly, I can reinstall it in an hour or two.

Bought my 2011 used back in Nov. of 2013. It already had the Tanabe axle back exhaust. I had the windows tinted (20%), roof spoiler, overlays on the rear lights (fronts coming), Gen 3 intakes, FI RHFC's installed and the car has been tuned (uprev).
Wheels and suspension next.

A tune w/o HFC or a TP is kind of a head-scratcher.
