Windshield glare/reflection

Hey all, I'm new here, I've only had my new G37x Sedan for not quite two months now...but I have to say, love it! Power, performance, features....quality, what a car! All this for much less $$$ than anything else in class...no-brainer to me!

However...I have one complaint, and wanted to see if anyone else has had the same issue. Of all the cars I've ever owned, this one has more reflection of the dash in the windshield than any other. I seriously have never seen quite so much reflection! This of course goes away at night, and is worse with differing angles from the sun. The worst part is the "U" reflecting from the moveable cluster. It's so bad that I'm (sigh) considering getting some kind of dark dash cover.

Anyone else? Ideas?

Thanks!

I've noticed the reflection, but it doesn't really bug me. Try not to use shiny interior protectants like armor all. Maybe if you get the lightest tint possible and put it on the windshield (50%)? it might help

I actually had a customer return a vehicle for this, she had a seizure while driving because of the reflection.

Use a good vinyl/rubber interior conditioner that leaves a correct matte finish. There should be no reflection of the dash on the inside of the windshield.

Do not tint your windshield.

polarized sunglasses work for me, Figured out that's why I don't really notice it.

Maybe you could try a dash mat

Did you use a cleaner that leaves a shine on the surface?
I have had a 2007 G with wheat interior and now a 2011 G with graphite interior and have never noticed any glare.

Yea, I thought about going with some kind of dash mat. I just hate ordering something like that online, getting it, and then hating it! ....oh well, I'll have to figure something out!

Use this:

303 Products, Inc.: 303 Aerospace Protectant

Awesome stuff for vinyl, plastic, and rubber...it won't leave a "shiny" look, but protects and bring out the color.

Get the entire windshield done in a 70% clear ceramic film, it'll cut down on the glare and heat significantly. It's optically clear, so you won't have to worry about inspection or tint regulations. Almost every company makes something in that variety, from Llumar to Solarguard, etc

Dash covers look stupid IMO

Ummm..
never noticed such issue at all.. r u using some sort of dashboard polish ?? cause leather polishes give shine and this might lead to the excessive reflextion..

Try using a interior protectant that leaves a "natural finish". I use Black Magic Pro-Shine Protectant.

Just got my car yesterday and agree that I see a lot of reflection of the console in the windshield. Did you figure out a solution?
