With all the interest in the rebadge thread just curious what the forum consensus is.

Just leave it, the badge is beautiful as it is.

How stupid, you are buying a 40K+ car not a civic but you are shame of it, then whats the purpose buying it initially?

might as well just buy a used CIVIC so you could do whatever you want, ghetoo lovers

it really has nothing to do with how much a car costs, rather, how it looks debadged. Some cars (yes, even expensive ones that costs over $40k) look fine debadged. The G, however, seems a little odd without badging IMO.

Wow, first you said black window trim looks ricey now you're saying debadging is ghetto. Anything other than bone stock that you happen to find appealing?

Just vote and feel free voice your opinion if you can do it without being offensive or insulting to others who may differ in opinion or without being a jackass in general. That's how threads get closed and deleted.

IMO, any car without badge looks odd. But I am curious to see if anyone want or actually debadge a BMW. I have seen a few re-badged 325/328i for "///M3".

IF I were to de-badge, it would only be the letters on the trunk...mainly because they are a pain in the a** when cleaning and polishing.

That is an extremely practical reason that I think some don't see or appreciate. I didn't intend to debadge my car at all. I have friends who have and it is a very good look. But after a couple of years of working around those letters whi8le detailing and never ever getting all the dirt or scratches from around the crevices of the letters I debadged the letters (not the logo) so that I could fully polish that area of the trunk and put the letters back later (I think they are about $40 or so?). I really liked the look of it without them. So it's still off. Anyone who can't tell what kind of car it is by the Mt. Fuji logos on the front and rear or who doesn't know what a G37 coupe is without the INFINITI lettering on it isn't really a car person at all. Why would I care if they know what my car is or not? I had a guy once ask me if it was the new Crossfire when it still had the lettering on it!

Just check the other thread currently on this subject where some believe a debadged car is worth a bit less when eventually sold, and rebadging can be a hassle.

I can see where some buyers might have a certain perception about a car missing the badges/lettering.
Most average car buyers would probably assume it's been in a wreck and the letters were not put back on...

I like the badges and will keep them on, but I don't think it looks bad with it de-badged.

That was one of the initial reasons why I took off the "Infiniti" and "G37" and just left Mt Fuji. I love the Mt Fuji logo, and it's really the only badge on the trunk that you can easily clean, especially after a wax job. The finished look is clean, still identifies the car as an Infiniti, and don't have to worry about trying to get in the seemingly endless nooks and crannies around all those letters & numbers.

i just have mt. fuji.

removed infiniti because cleaning the car became a pain.
i also removed g37s because my red S was faded and pealing..

ultimately i like a clean car with symmetry.

just my $.02. to each his own.

before i debadged i searched for every type of rear end g with different setups like the ones you mentioned...and just stared at them day n day out before i made decision of what i could live with and see in the parking lot everyday.

good luck

I've seen plenty of BMW and Audi that are debadged. I particular don't like it, but whatever. IF you like it, then go for it. I'm just saying the price of the car has nothing to do with debadging or not.
