I would trust a mag more who buys all test vehicles from the market where you and me the consumer obtain our cars, and accepts NO advertising.

For entertaining value, MT/CD/RT could be your best bet, they are in such group of medias who are usually raving BMW is the best/benchmark blah blah.. I guess they forgot that benchmark was not only about performance but also overall quality. To build a car that is reliable, piratical, and fun to drive at the same time is no easy task than to be a performance benchmark. I recall someone said 0-60 & 1/4 miles were not everything, neither was pure canyon carving ability.

Well said. Worry free reliability is what I want. I want to be able to drive it for many years and still have it running so I can get a decent buck for it when I sell it.

I paid $11,500 for a 1995 Nissan Hardbody pickup. Drove it for 13 years, put 186k miles on it and sold it for $1,000 cash. I'd say that truck paid for itself over the years and then some.

Keep in mind that CR’s reliability charts, dealership satisfaction tables and other data elements that they publish every year are based on subscribers’ questionnaires, not staff. I’m sure that after receiving thousands of returned questionnaires for particular vehicles the data can be quite accurate.
