Ah the pain of black paint. It's THE best paint for the hour after it's washed but shows every bit of dirt...
I hear you man. In 2007 I purchased my wife a black 2007 Honda Pilot that was loaded and looked amazing for about 30 minutes after I spent 1.5 hours washing and detailing it (people would go out of their way to comment). We were in Dallas then, so the weather changed 2-3 times a day and either winds or brief showers would destroy my work as we parked the car outside at the time. If you allowed the car to dry in the sun, it looked worse than before you washed it. I tried to keep it clean, but it was huge and took alot of work to just dry, so I threw in the towel and decided to take it to the car wash every other week (it was filthy by that second week). We eventually moved back to CA and had a tiny garage to use, so that helped preserve the car till we sold it with 200K on the odometer. Every now and then, I'd feel herculean and want to wash it in the driveway, but when I was done I'd need a Motrin and a nap. Large black cars, even small ones, are off the radar for me.
Went to a small Nissan Cars and Coffee this weekend with some fellow G owners. The rains was a bummer but we were able to hang under the awning and talk cars for a few hours. It's great having in depth chats with other guys that have multiple project cars - they understand the "problem"? Looking forward to doing it again next month.

A few G sedans and a few Z's
Nice! Alyways good to talk with other enthusiasts.
Your username. Frog man and what I thought was a purposeful mispelling of coqui.
Ah I can see that - The origin is a high school nickname that I was known for in our group of car friends "Frogman" (I had a green truck). And Kouki because I have a "later generation" or face lifted Nissan S14 known as a Kouki. It has stuck as username for decades now.
Facelifted Silvia= Kouki. Learned something new today.
Same here!
Update on my engine bay project...
One of the items I purchased was not what I was expecting, causing me to re-think things I had planned. I tried to ignore that it was not what I originally had in mind, but couldn't let it go. So I decided to take the time (and spend the $$) to do things even better than I had originally envisioned. Now I am shooting for a completion date of mid November. At least I have a project keeping me busy!
