NC will take your license for doing 10 over? I don't know anyone who does less than 15 over in Charlotte so that seems to be a little off..
Also, if I go by what you are saying, they'll probably haul me straight to jail for what I do on a bike.. Ain't nobody got time for traffic.

No. But traffic is generally either moving quite a bit over the limit or barely crawling. You have to do some pretty dumb pretty consistently to get in a lot of trouble.

Ok, so first off, the trunk spoiler is the one made by Stillen for G's with backup cameras. It's cheap plastic and mounts only with sticky tape. I wouldn't personally recommend it, I had to work with it a lot to get it to look how I wanted. If I had to do it again, probably would go OEM and get the one that uses screws.

Second, the rule is 15mph over the posted speed limit in NC, unless that speed limit is 70mph (the highest posted speed in NC). Then, it becomes 10mph over instead of 15mph because it is considered "reckless driving" (which I got as well). NC, along with Virginia, has some of the worst speeding laws in the country.

My first ticket got knocked down to improper equipment. My second ticket was worst. I got tagged with going 25 over in a 70mph zone and got reckless driving. I was coming back from the motorsports shop and was having too much fun on I-485.

Thankfully, these were my first offenses, so my lawyer got the ticket knocked down to 9mph over and got rid of the reckless driving. No points on the license/no change in insurance.

I got very, very lucky

Oh dang. Yea, that's a positive outcome (even though likely costly).
Were you coming from SOHO? What did you have done? I just had them tune mine so I know the feeling..

Yep, SOHO Motorsports it was. I had them install the Whiteline Diff bushings as well as service most of the fluids on the car. I have the 7AT and was trying to determine if my butt dyno could feel a difference in tightness in shifts/overall smoothness in the transmission (I was having clunking prior to this).

I posted a summary of the work/results on this page:
https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...ml#post4150532

I wasn't really watching my speed, and I think I was going faster at some point than what I was clocked doing. Needless to say, the cost of ONE ticket (with fees and such) is equivalent to the cost of a radar detector. My advice for anyone who enjoys "spirited" driving - get one.

Did the spoiler take work to make it sit flush with the trunk?
Camera did align correctly. The button itself is in a bit deeper. Yes the spoiler did take a bit of constant readjusting with 2 people working on and around the trunk.

I purchased the Escort Max 360 this year through a payment plan at work and although the overall cost is a little much for a lot of folks (in the neighborhood of $700) I am certain that it has more than paid for itself a dozen times over. The scanner is also connected to the network via phone Bluetooth and you real the benefits of anyone else that has read any signals. I have already taken 2 road trips and the detector has saved me thousands of dollars in tickets undoubtedly. I strongly suggest and endorse the product.

^ agreed to the above, i too have an Escort 9500xi and i will never drive without it. Living in the city the detector picks up a lot of erroneous signals but it definitely gets you to pay attention a little bit more.

How do you guys like SOHO? I do most of my own work, but I haven't had anything other than Euros in so long I don't have a reputable back up. Where are they. David at Formula Euro is good with Japanese cars too, but I'd like someone that really knows the chassis and VQ engines

The new Escort Max 360 reads Laser amongst many other types. I am telling you it is worth every penny it cost, truly.

The detector is on a network that links all alerts from all users too. We collectively protect each other.

That plus waze (and an optional laser jammer) is as good as it gets without going too deep into it.
