Thanks! I actually got them from a guy in NJ. I know another set is currently in the classifieds, maybe that is the one from PA.

I still have my OEM duckfeet sitting in the basement for when/if I sell my car in the future.

So I got the Vossen VFS-1's put on yesterday. Absolutely love the look of the wheels! They are super light for 20's. Tires are Continental DWS, which I've had before, and they are also light. Overall the weight is the same in front (50 total each corner) and rear (51 total each corner). Specs are 20x9 +32 with 255/35 and 20x10.5 +45 with 285/30.

I was really hoping that I would love the stance, but I don't. I don't think it looks "bad," but the car is damn near crying for a drop. I just hate that I'm going to have to spend another $1,500 - $2,000 to lower it, when all I really want is the front to be slightly lower...

Or just spend ~ $400 and go with Swift springs. Take a look at Rochester's car for reference.

1. No, you want to lower the rear, too. You really do.
2. Congrats on getting Vossen's newest wheel. Very clean, very classy.

Furlow, you're channeling my experience from this past Spring, when I installed Vossen CVT's on my car... which is also a MW G37S. I loved the wheels from the moment I saw them, but as soon as they went on the car, I couldn't deny there was something very, very wrong. The obvious poke was very unappealing, and it made the gap look downright huge. And that's just not something you were predisposed to notice with duckfeet tucked under the lip.

I grok, Furlow.

It's a hard lesson learned, particularly if you never intended to lower the car, but VOSSEN specs the offsets of their wheels *intending* for them to be used on cars that are lowered with negative camber. It's just the way of it, man. So... $500 give or take for springs and installation. Easily over $1500 if you get coilovers.

Is it worth it? Oh yeah, it's worth it.

That's what I'd do. But I would replace the shocks with Koni's if I lower it, which is another $1,000. Plus install... I have a good deal pending with a vendor on here for Swift/Koni/Hotchki's/SPL's and I'm probably gonna pull the trigger on it. I know it will look better I just really enjoy the cushy ride that I have right now.

Check my post on the last page. I'm running swifts with a very similar wheel. And same color car! That ought to give you a good idea.

Yeah I love how the front looks with the Swift drop, but the rear looks too low to me. The shop that I'd use to do the drop said he can put a thicker bushing in there to raise it up slightly, but there are limitations to that. Plus I've had lowered cars before and there are always some type of issues (noises, too much camber/tire wear, etc.)

I'm sure I'll end up doing it and I'll post pics when I do.

I've read a lot of your posts, and I have a similar mindset regarding mods - especially lowering. I really wanted to go with 19's and not drop, as I thought your car looked fantastic without the drop. I actually like the slight poke of the wheels (about 4-5 mm), so I wouldn't drop to bring it more flush. I just don't like the wheel gap, especially in the front.

Both you and Yada have great looking cars, and I'm sure my guy will be able to dial in my drop. I have the autokitsx rear diffuser coming in though too, and I'm going to repaint my rear bumper (it doesn't match either). Just a lot of money going out the window!

And Rochester - I copied that grill look from you. I was floored when I saw it on your car and in person on mine. That's how the car should have come stock!

Mods don't have to be forever, Furlow. Springs today, then in a few years change it up with CO's. After the drop, might want to start researching adjustable end-links, for down the road a little bit.

Yesterday I took the Vossens off the car for Winter, and put the duckfeet back on with snow tires and 15mm spacers. And you know what? It looks pretty darn good. My point being, I think in 3 years give or take, I might sell the Vossens for a set of super lightweight 18's, like Enkie RPF1. Again, to change things up.

Anyway, congrats again on the new rims.

I kind of remember that now. You don't post much, so I didn't recall. Sorry.

Either way, I'm very happy to see this on another car. It's all good.

I couldn't get those springs on fast enough. Would have been faster if N4S hadn't screwed up the order so very bad.

However, Poke-be-gone... Just nice and flush, with a uniform gap up front, and a little bit of RWD-Swift sag in the rear. Meh.

Honestly, it's all about the camera angle, LOL.

At that price point get a set of BC's for $950 so you can adjust your height and dampener settings. Heck, you can even find a set of nice used coilovers for sub $700. I have a friend with a set of Tanabe pro's for 600.

Install is pretty easy if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. Save yourself a few pennies that way.

I've lowered two G series cars and ran my 35 for 2.5 years right at -1.8 FR camber, and my tires wore just fine. IMO, these cars could use a camber kit from factory. It is ALL in the alignment. Do some research and get yourself a quality alignment. A lot of places try, and they'll get it "the best they can" but if you can find a place to do the alignment right, you should not be running into camber/toe issues by any means.
