I'm currently in the process of purchasing a car, and I had some questions about the G37. There is a 2011 Certified G37 Sedan that has 21000 miles for 28500, and it used to be a rental vehicle. It being a Japanese car, I don't think that this is a terrible thing, but I'm not sure. Opinions?

And another thing. It does not look like there are options, but I see a Push-start button and a rearview camera, are these two standard features? What other standard features are there?

Its hard to tell all the options it might have. Push button start is standard on Nissan Vehicles. As far as the miles, thats a whole lot for a 2011! Maybe it is loaded with Nav etc but only you could tell us that. There is also tech packages and whether it is a standard G37 or an G37S can make a differeance as well. 7AT or 6MT? The price seems fair but it would depend on what it has as options. Ask the dealer to give you a print out on the options.

I don't think there is much difference on the standard and optional equipement between the 2011 and 2012 G37.

This should give you a pretty good idea of what comes standard on the basic G37 versus the upgraded levels and optional items and packages.

If it was a rental then it will be a Journey model. Too much money for the miles on it. If it has sensors on the back for the sonar system then it is a premium package vehicle as well, but I do not think they had that package for the rentals. If it is a Journey only, a new 2011 with those options you could get for about 31-32k

 

Yeah there is no way I am going to buy it for asking price. I was thinking about 25K, that seems more reasonable.

 

Keep in mind its a RENTAL CAR!!! I dont know about you guys, but either a Loaner from the Dealer, where gas is free, or a rental I floor the **** out of it. Not to say other may be more delicate, on the grand scale of things that car has been driven! Specially how its so new and sooooo many miles I would think twice before purchasing that.

 

Just curious...If you loaned your car to someone and they did this, what would you do if you found out?

 

That's what I what I was thinking recently too. They have other used G's, so I'll look into those.

 

Honestly i wouldnt buy a loaner or rental car just because what everyone does with them when they get loaned out.. Me personally rage out the loaners when i get them and im sure everything does that... You can even asked the loan car managers and they will tell you customer beat them up pretty good.. so i would do it

 

So you take it for a spin up to your back yard and pull out a .357 and pump a few rounds into it? My loaner is a year old and runs beautifully.

 

Funny, I'm driving a 2012 Jeep Liberty as a rental for a week in MN (cold) while my G sits at the Dallas airport. It had 8 miles on it when they handed me the key. I've been trying to take it easy on the engine, except for a couple of hard throttle bursts when at full operating temp to seat the rings, followed by engine braking. Ragging it out is not what I want to do to this vehicle. It needs to have a good life.

I don't know man, but as it had been a rental car, so I think it's already been F***ed up..

A friend of mine just got a loaded 2010 C300 Sedan with 20k miles on it for 24k.

I think 28k is too much. Just my opinion.
