car blackbox

Anyone installing or installed one of these cameras in their car?

Apparently it's the new trend in Asian countries to record in case of accidents or road rage.

Why? If it is to your advantage, you have evidence. And if you screw up, don't tell anyone the device exist. You can't loose.

The g37 has the a blackbox from what I've read in the owners manaual and in the event of an accident it records the last 30 seconds of info.

This is always a double edge sword because it could prove you are innocent as well as at fault.

If you installed your own, wouldn't that give you the option to present it as evidence or keep it secret? I don't see how this could be a bad thing unless it is installed/ operated/ viewed by a third party

You can keep it.

I can do without the accident black box the car already has as well and wish it were removable.

Plus unless they shoot you or put you in a ditch (odds are slim to none), what putz cares about some other driver's road rage? Grow a pair or take the bus.
