classic car decision

first of all, i know this is the wrong part of the forum but in the other cars section there is barely anybody to give opinions.

so here's my dilemma,

i'm looking into buying a classic muscle car to rebuilt as i work from home and need a project to work on every now and then.

i'm pretty set on two cars right now.
1. 1973 ford maverick Australian 302 grabber: has new tires, working A/C, no rust, runs and drives, the owner has it as daily driver, has 302 V8 which i'm later gonna rebuilt and turbocharge, and he's asking $2500

2. 1977 mustang V6. the engine and tranny has been rebuilt, has no rust, no A/C which is a let down, interior needs to be repaired, owner is currently driving it as daily car. he's asking $3500

thoughts please as i'm torn apart for both.

PS: white is the mustang and orangish is the maverick

1970 chevelle imo...o wait that wasn't an option I'd go with the maverick, a little less common, also just not a fan of that body mustang.

I'd go with the maverick. The 77 mustang isn't even in that era of muscle cars anymore. Didn't even recognize it from the pic. Thought it was a pinto.

Go with the Maverick.
Something to shoot for:
1970 Ford Maverick Factory Pro Stock for sale by Mecum Auction
High bid was $205k but it didn't sell.

Maybe the 2012 Boss 302 engine will be offered as a crate motor...

another recent Maverick from Mecum's 2011 auction
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...=IA0711-112304
(It sold for $5k. I thing you need to join their Infonet (free) to see prices)

Maverick. 100%, leave that POS mustang alone. Mustangs aren't classic, they're just old.

man this more one sided than i thought. i since the beginning had my eyes on the maverick and it has more regular equipment. the V8 and A/C is why it's pulling me to it

Maverick is the clear choice between the two but a 67 Chevelle would be nice, too.

In 1977 I purchased my first car; a 75 mustang hatchback (same body style as your thumbnail)....it had the V-6...a real DOG!!! Get the Maverick with the V-8; better resale...a much more fun car to drive.

Guess what guys??
I got the maverick. It's in very good condition than i thought.

I paid $1000 for it. It was either a classic muscle car or coils for my 2010 G37 sedan. I guess coils not gonna happen for. Little bit.
