No, the traction control always remains on. From page 5-54 of the 2011 manual

The VDC OFF switch is used to turn off the VDC system. The VDC off indicator illuminates to indicate the VDC system is off. When the VDC switch is used to turn off the system, the VDC system still operates to prevent one drive wheel from slipping by transferring power to a non slipping drive wheel. The VDC warning light flashes if this occurs. All other VDC functions are off, and the VDC warning light will not flash. The VDC system is automatically reset to on when the ignition switch is placed in the off position then back to the on position.

^ I can confirm from my everyday driving experience that it lets me spin my wheels.. also tosses the *** out and chirps without the vdc lag when shifting!

its a fail safe thing, its like if the button gets jammed and stuck, the on board computer will automatically turn the vdc back on, that is also the reason why after u hold the button u cant turn it off again until u restart ur car.

I tired it out last night. Behaviour was no different compared to when I just push and release the VDC button.

Maybe so, but I should think it much less expensive to get your donuts at Dunkin than to burn up your tires (and money) with childish behavior.

I work for my money and spend it the way I want. Money is to have fun with or else we all would be billionaires without spending.

I agree with your sentiment, but not your math. Contrary to what congressmen seem to think, a billion is a LOT of money.

Of course, you may make $20million plus per year, in which case without spending anything, accumulating a billion is plausible.

Same here, all it does is turn the light off. The function is "VDC off" (the part of it that does turn off). It just removes the light.

My car is at the shop now. I did this years ago by removing the fuse (brake light disable or other name), the fuse box next to the left foot rest. it will let you do a burnout.

Not sure if we are talking about the same wire.
