around view monitor camera on a G?

hey guys, the other day i was playing with my nav screen and i saw the option of turning ON the around view camera option to ON or OFF like the FX and other infiniti models.

is it possible if you can buy the FX parts and hook it up to the G? i'm very tempted as it is already equipped with the software. im assuming it's just plug and play.

thoughts?

Impossible to do. Maybe not totally, but extremely expensive. I have it on my 09 FX and you would need a different wiring harness, different center stack and buttons since there is a button on the top to turn the camera on when it's in front view. You also need all four camera's which are like $800 a piece. The around view camera control unit is over $1K. Also a different BCM (body control module) because when you have around view monitor there is different wiring coming from the around view monitor to the BCM. That means the one on the G's are different than the FX. And I'm assmuming that wiring harness if over $1K itself. Plus all the software tweaking that would need to be done to "maybe" even get it to work. And probably a ton of other things too.

I do love mine though

I checked up on it and it is basically all the same in every Infiniti vehicles. All I would need is the parts to order.

One of my good friends work for infiniti and said that he'll help me with the project. Ill keep you guys posted.

AVM is a cool feature, but I agree with FireOnIc3. Is it really worth $2,400 worth of cameras alone to try this? I doubt it will be a plug-and-play application, so beyond hardware expenses, there'll be a lot of labor into this project.

Still, if bashirdur wants to give it a go, have at it. I hope we get some updates on what happens. Iin most threads like this, the OP usually disappears after realizing s/he is wasting their time and $$.
