Question To paint the invidia mufflers or not?

I have the Invidia cat-back on my G and the finish on the mufflers looks so nice i'm having a problem covering them up with black paint, However I do like the stock look of blacked out mufflers.

What do you guys think of just painting the back of the muffler(the part seen from rear of car) or should it be all or nothing?

Even using heat-resistant paint won't help the vibration and scrapes your mufflers are constantly exposed to. For longterm use, leave those polished mufflers alone.

You can pay me for this valuable advice later...

Use plastidip. That way you can easily take the paint off later for whatever reason, without messing up the chrome finish.

I plastidip'd my FI exhaust about 3 weeks ago. No issue so far with the heat. I couldn't stand the chrome look from the back. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Keep em polished. You paid a pretty penny for your exhaust. Show them off!!! *BLINGBLING*

I'm all about plastidip pin but it holds up to exhaust? If that's the case I wonder if I buy 10 cans and spray the crap out of the stock will help keep it from rusting.

-30f/+200f is what the data sheet says.

Have no idea what the cans can measure during the hot summer during idling sessions. Hate to see a puddle under the car!

Here's my FI exhaust with the cans painted with plastidip. I painted them while they are still on the car. Too lazy to take them off.

I'm biased, but I say paint it. If you spend the time cleaning, sanding, priming, painting, curing, it will hold up fine. It was tough for me to scuff up the nice polished finish, but I couldn't be happier. I don't like the flashy look, so the painted suits me better.

I was concerned about longevity of the paint, but after spending a week or so looking at other people that had done the same on other cars, I felt better. Cars and motorcycles with 5-10 years on the muffler paint job and they were holding up fine.

Just get a rear diffuser and drop it low enough where no one sees them unless they are laying on the ground anyway!

Do whatever you like. I did like the polished look for quite some time but then I began to love the painted look. It retains the OEM look. I painted my Invidia catback with high temp paint and i love it. The paint holds up great. Soundmike and I have had absolutely no problems with it. The decisions is up to you though.

Here is a pic of my Invidia.
