Take over lease

Take over lease

I live in chicago and looking for someone to assume my lease @ $465.00 per month 10,000 miles per yr the lease ends 11/12. Its a G37xs silver every option except tech pkg. I just turned 9000 miles not a scratch on it.

id look into this with IFS - if i remember correctly, infiniti never lets the original lessee off the hook, so you may be (partially) liable if whoever takes over your lease stops paying

You're more than partially liable. I considered lease trading with this car, and Infiniti was very clear that I would be 100% liable of the 3rd party lessee damaged the car, stopped paying for the car, or did anything else outside of ordinary wear and tear for the life of the lease. I couldn't stomach the idea of essentially being a cosigner with a complete stranger, so I abandoned the idea.

Infiniti's rationale is that the dealer owns the car, so any true lease assumption would require the dealer to first buy back the car, and then lease it to the 3rd party. Pretty ridiculous, but they really have no incentive to play nice.
