I've got a checkered past, that's for sure:

85 Toyota Pickup
95 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins (totaled)
96 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l
2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser (ashamed)
1995 Toyota Tacoma pickup (still have it)
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR
2011 G37

That doesn't include any of the motorcycles, lol.

I used to drive a 2003 Impala as a daily and a 2002 Camaro Z28 manual on the side. Got tired of having two cars and wanted performance near the Camaro, the passenger room of a sedan, and AWD for snow. G37 was the best match, only disappointment was I couldn't get a manual with the AWD.
97 Dodge Dakota Sport 2.5 I-4 MT5. Couldn't get out of its own way, but I worked that thing til somebody paying more attention to their dog in the passenger seat than the stop sign ran it and got in front of me. T-boned a Land Cruiser, of all vehicles, and parents wound up selling the truck to the mechanic. I'd just put a Fabtech suspension in it 4 days earlier... Black, standard cab, school bus size stickshift. Bench seat. Fourth gear with anyone in the middle seat was always interesting. Great looking truck, washed it every week.

Parents in turn gave me the 1991 Explorer XLT 4d 4.0L V-6 AT4 I always wanted as its replacement. 94,000 miles on the clock at the time, 237,000 now. Original engine, still own. Love it, love it, love it. Flowmaster 40 series, racing cats, 2.5" stainless pipe, K&N intake, Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. 17+ mpg each time. 21mpg cross country at 70mph with a/c on.

02 Acura RSX Type S MT6. What a hoot and holler, but the back got real nervous and unsettled with no weight and the awful Michelins Acura uses at the factory. Put some Bridgestone Potenza 225/55/16's on there, much better. Still had to rev for power though. First car purchase, waited a year after my first full time job to convince myself I had a stable income. Cheap to insure, too.

07 Ford Fusion SEL AT6. Got that when starting a family, and couldn't get over the transmission and its overactive shift to save fuel economy all the time. No sport mode and no OD disable. Got the 4 door and automatic for the wife, and unfortunately couldn't get over the driving miss daisy attitude of the car. Loved most of the rest of it though, superb handling, weight dist., and great engine. FWD though, and I'd had enough of that too. My tank for any and all chores is a 91 Explorer. Talk about grunt and unapologetic truck behavior and top notch reliability. Almost a quarter million miles, original engine.

I guess since folks are reaching WAY back, might as well do so, too:

1967 Ford Mustang GT
1968 Ford Mustang GT
2000 Acura TL
2001 Lexus GS430 L-Tuned
2004 Audi S4 6MT
2010 Infiniti G37S 6MT

My father bought the first Mustang when I was 14 or 15 and restored it for my 16th birthday (I helped a little, but not nearly as much as I should've). When I graduated from college I bought the second Mustang and gave him the first as a toy. Eventually I decided I needed something more reliable (and with AC after I moved to Texas!), so I gave my father another Mustang (he sold the '67 to finance restoration of the '68) and got the TL as my first modern "sport sedan", but then quickly traded that against the GS430 which I modded pretty heavily (suspension, ECU, exhaust, etc.). I then found myself REALLY missing a standard transmission, so when the time came to move on from the GS, I got the S4. That was an incredibly fun car, but when it was about to run out of (extended!) warranty, I felt it would be good to move on. The 2010 S4 really caught my eye, but then I found out that I had twins on the way so I decided to save the $$$ and get the G37S that offered a remarkably complete package for WAY less $$. I've been really enjoying it ever since!
