Infiniti G25 First Impressions...
interesting to finally get one in. I'll tell you this, it reminded me of the 1995 Nissan Maxima with the power. If we aren't all used to the 328-horsepower V6 it is still peppy.
It's a lot smoother and less vibration in the G25. You can feel the weight difference having the front end a little lighter for handling.
Most clients will not floor the car from light to light... with 25% acceleration it feels just like the G37 sedan... If I didn't care about power this is fine.
Just like the G37, between 4k rpm and 7k rpm it's peppy with the typical VQ feel -- not the G37 power but it's still enough.
Exhaust note is identical to the G37 sedans.

So my thought.... Infiniti did it right to build a car with less horsepower for the non-forumer lurkers and clients that are not looking for the fastest car on the road, but a luxury sedan that has all wheel drive.
I have a few flaws -- no 6-disc in dash -- or a 2gb hard drive... obviously we know it only has one main option... moonroof or none. But who's going to deal with just a single CD slot?
Price is on point I feel. It's still going to be a 30/70 split from G25/G37 sedans I believe.
Just my 0.02 cents

I always thought that 95-99 maxima engine was underrated at 190hp. I even raced a few E36 M3's with my 96 SE and Made them work pretty hard.
In fact I drove a friends 99 Maxima the last winter and was amazed at how strong it felt.
I think this car is priced too High and does not get enough MPG for people to get that excited. Compared to the IS250 and BMW 325 it just does not match the economy. It really needs to sell on looks alone.
With that said it is still very perrrtyyy. So it has that going for it.

That price is for the g25x, the "base" g25 starts at 30950 + 875.
No more base for the g37, g37 Journey starts at 35050 + 875. You can see the price for all the 2011's at edunds.com.

The BMW also does not have Homelink, a compass, or a sunroof unless you order with premium package (2,650 extra). Interestingly, the 2011 328i does come with rain sensing wipers; a nice feature.

One thing that BMW has is their "BMW Ultimate Service", 4 years/50k miles complete maintenance. On their website, they list Infiniti four year expenses as $649. That sounds pretty low, especially if you are changing your oil every 3750 miles.
BMW uses synthetic oil and their recommended oil change is 15000 miles / one year, so it costs a lot less for BMW to offer than a full maintenance program than it would for Infiniti.
BMW also plays games with their 3 series model numbers. The 328i is a 3l, so it should really be badged 330i. 335i doesn't look that much more powerful though, so BMW played a marketing game and badged it down to 328i. Only 70hp difference between the two, whereas there's 110 between the G25 and G37.
