Hey guys, newbie here. Question about medalion touring vs. fast intentions.

I have an 09 g37x sedan, and am looking for an exhaust system to replace the stock one. Both Tanabe and FI sound nice. Of course it's axle back vs. cat back, but Tanabe's also half the price.
Are there any power gains with Tanabe, or is it only sound?
Opinions or thoughts much appreciated.

Axel back = only sound.

I have the FI exhaust on my 2010 xS sedan. LOVE it like I love my mother. Maybe even more so.

Not true. I'm just gonna leave it at that.

I think this was on Tanabe's site, but there was an info on pricing.

It seems that there are power increases with just the axle back too, not sure if i'm reading it right though.

You're reading the dyno sheet right, 3hp, 7ftlbs. But that's really not a significant gain.
Mostly, you have to decide if the extra power of FI is worth the extra money. Tanabe now has a y-pipe for the coupe, so I would assume one for the sedan would be coming soon. If it does you'll be able to have a full cat-back tanabe exhaust, good to know if you decide to buy axle back now and want a cat back later. As far as pricing on tanabe and for info on the sedan y-pipe, contact lou@amplified.

Ok... 1-2hp...

And Sammy, just an FYI, I dyno'd 294whp/238tq with ERZ HFCs/FI catback/Stillen Gen 3 intakes.

It all depends what your goals are. Moar powah = moar monies!

Between these two choices without considering other cat back exhausts I would go with FI. But before you narrow down the exhaust choices to these two, check out this post.
