I am trying to decide which Cat-Back exhaust to buy. I have been looking at the FI and now I am looking at Ark, but holding out to see what the Tanabe Sedan Cat-Back would perform like.

I'm looking for performance and sound quality. Which did you buy and what was it about your Cat-Back that you were looking for and did you find it?

 

Just to clarify for you....
The FI is a full cat back system(mid pipe and y pipe included). The tanabe is an axle back system(no mid or y pipe) and you aren't really going to see or feel any HP gains. That's the reason the tanabe is cheaper.

I went with the tanabe because I was after better sound and looks, not more power. I couldn't justify the much higher cost of the FI for a few more horses. I can always buy the mid/y pipes later if I want.

 

I read that Tanabe is in the testing stages of putting together a Cat Back for Sedans. If I find the link, I'll post it.

I've got the Stillen and it sounds fantastic, well built, and fit like a glove. ZERO complaints. Some people on here really like to bag on Stillen but their exhaust for the G37 Sedan is extremely solid and sounds fantastic. If you search on youtube you will find some videos of my Sedan with Stillen exhaust.

Where did you get this? & I was looking through the actual Tanabe website and they don't actually have an exhaust for the G37 sedan but they do for the 2nd Gen G35 Sedan. I don't know if this is a stupid question but I'm guessing you're gonna' use the 2nd gen G35 exhaust on a 2009 G37?

 

I ordered it from a vendor in the classifieds(here on myG37). Yes, you need the one for 07-08 G35. 95% of parts on the 09-10 are the same as 07-08's(including the exhaust). The only parts that are really different are some of the electronics and the AT.

 

Damn whenever ever you get it and install let me know, I want to know if the install was simple and what it sounds like too. I'm not really looking for performance, just for a little more sound. I had a 2005 g35 coupe before and I was so used to that stock exhaust.

I chose the Stillen because it's deep and throaty when accelerating, but quiets down when cruising. The sound is far better than the stock exhaust. I don't want a lot of racket when cruising along at a steady speed, but I enjoy a noticable growl when accelerating. It's not loud, obnoxious, annoying, and juvenile as some are.

Stillen claims on their website to get 18 additional hp for the 370z which is very similar to the G37 coupe.
