Traded in my '05 G sedan last week for a brand new, just rolled off the truck with 3 miles on it, O'black, Journey/Sport, loaded. Pic below.

I tell ya, these are downright beautiful cars. The curves and lines beat anything in it's class. Thank you Infiniti!

But one little detail that I liked on my '05 that is no longer an option on the G, are the chrome door handles. IMO, the chrome accents are one of the details that really make these cars "pop".

So, am I the only one that misses these? Has anyone chromed their door handles on an '07-'10 G. Can it be done??

Chrome might be a little too much but a metallic finish to match the wheels would be beautiful. Chrome would make it look like a Cadillac.

 

YUK! No chrome for me. Super clean look comes from painted everything

 

I had an 05 Sedan years back and mine didn't have chrome handles.

EDIT: Oops... I went back and looked at pics of my old sedan and I did have Chrome handles. Never really realized it.

But yeah, agree with the others. No chrome handles FTW.

 

yeah...chrome was cool back in the...oh, nope. chrome has never been cool.

Thank you for a minute i thought i was the only one. planning on a spoiler to delete the trunk chrome and going with the black grill. Not sure about vinal wrapping the window trim yet (need to see one done close up to see if the quality is up to par)

Hmmm, what about the grill, the trim around the side windows, the spoiler. That's chrome, right? So, you're saying the G is "uncool" with these chrome accents?

 

I have the coupe, so there isn't any trim (chrome or any at all) around the side windows (one more reason I don't like the sedan)...and the chrome lip on the trunk is NOT a spoiler. In any way. Get the real spoiler.

Plus on ~day 5 of owning my G I painted the grille then got an aftermarket grille shortly after.

So yes, the G is "uncool" with those chrome accents IMO. It looks SOOOOO much better w/o them. The grill can be pulled off sometimes, but I still think nearly every aftermarket grille looks better than the OEM chrome one (the midnight one is decent).

 

I don't mind the grille or window trim but the chrome door handles are a little much for me.

 

Gotcha. A coupe guy posting in the sedan forum. Oh well, I guess I am in the minority here, but I still think a thin chrome strip on the door handle would look sweet. They came stock on my '05 sedan and I liked the look. But to each his own.

 

If anything do a satin metal finish like the Audi's S line has on there sideview mirrors.

 

new "M" has chrome handles. saw em on a blk one today. doesn't look right

 

lol I guess if only sedan guys posted in the sedan forum then at least half of the posters on this thread would have to leave

totally to each his own man, I just think the G is clasier w/o it. chrome is for escalades (and it doesn't make them look cool either)
