Anyone else experience this before?

I've had my G for about 4 months now, and enjoy every second of it. Yesterday, it had its first burp, and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this:

It was nice out, so the windows were down and sunroof open, and the music nice and loud. I was getting off the highway, so I put my blinker on, and downshifted (was driving in DS mode). I went to use the steering wheel controls to lower the volume, and it wouldn't work. I then went to the center console to lower the volume. Nothing. No functions on the center console worked. The climate control was stuck at 60 (no air conditioning on). I couldn't lower/raise temp, change fan speed or mode, no radio functions worked (station, volume, etc) and none of the controls on the navi screened worked. Everything was completed locked in its current format. The navi screen itself was still updating, and the radio was still playing, just nothing could be changed.

When I got home, I pulled her into the garage and turned off the car. I waited about 30 seconds and fired her up, and everything was back to normal.

Anyone see this before?

Nope. Sounds like a computer lockup. Rebooting cleared it.

Yupp. Happend to me a month ago. Was doing 75 on the highway when Radio decided to stop responding to inputs. Wheel mounted controls wouldnt work, nor radio controls. Couldn't even turn it off. Nav continued to scroll but couldnt access or change anything, including climate control. Kind of like what happens if in reverse with rear camera showing.

I had a destination programmed into the Nav unit at the time, and a turn was required about 2 minutes into this drama so the screen changed, and "poof" everything became accessible again. My theory is that the nav computer was contemplating the upcoming course modification and was secretly conspiring with my mother and Gerald Ford to ensure I didn't have any distractions leading into my impending turn.

^^ Hahahaha, that's pretty funny. But, is also exactly what happened to me, only I didn't have any destinations programmed into the Nav. Everything was essentially "locked". I was almost expecting to see the blue screen of death pop up on the navi screen. LOL

Did you ever bring it to a dealership to have them troubleshoot, sbebs2000?

Anything electronic can "lock up" sometimes. Ya know how when you restart your PC it usually fixes the problems. Same thing with your car.

No I did not as my dealership is about 120 miles away. It never happened again and it has been months.

Happened to me recently. It wouldn't start up when I started the car. 2 minutes later everything just powered up.
