I feel that even if it performs similar to the G Sedan, because it is a Ford the car should list for way less then an Infiniti. Why would you want to drive a Ford vs an Infiniti for the same price or in this case even more, with not much of a difference in power.

It would be like buying a Hyundai Genesis for the same price as a G coupe IMO

 

Agreed! The SHO will likely be a hit, but IMO import engineering will typically beat domestic engineering in the same class.

hahah i would certainly hope the g won..... but in all honesty the new sho should be an alright car... im glad the americans are finally realizing that they need to step it up.

 

With your logic, why should people pay what they pay for with the G? It's just an Infiniti (Nissan).

The price is demanded by the technology involved. Ford's Sync absolutely blows away the voice recognition on the G, and the engine in the SHO is technically superior in most aspects.

How much more would you pay for a conservative TT and direction injection on your G37? I know I'd be willing to plunk down quite a bit.

 

I'm not thrilled with the styling of the new Taurus Show. But according to that article that car did not have the performance package which includes:

upgraded performance brake pads, recalibrated electric power assisted steering (EPAS), a "Sport Mode" setting that allows you to deactivate the standard AdvanceTrac® Electronic Stability Control, 3.16 final drive ratio, 20" Premium painted wheels with Summer-compound 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 performance tires and tire mobility kit. (Spare tire is deleted when vehicle is optioned with this package).

A better comparison would have been against the Dodge Charger SRT8 or the 300C SRT8. Those three cars are all 4000+ lb. boats and priced the same.

This was not a meaningful comparison IMO.

 

A Taurus is the wrong car to compare to a G. Yes its a twin turbo, but once you take that out of the equation, its in the WRONG class.

 

Sorry but I disagree with you guys. They're both 4 door saloons with a large boot. Although the SHO's boot is bigger. You can stuff a body or 2 in there.

Price wise the SHO is more expensive than the G but so is the 335 which people compare to the G all the time. Size wise the SHO is bigger than the G but the G is also bigger than the 3 series. I found it very interesting to read.

 

Good effort from Ford; but the lack of MT and RWD and its hefty weight makes it more of a cruiser than a sports sedan.

 

Infiniti has a higher customer satisfaction rating than Nissan. In America, we need flashy names and ratings to be able to buy a high price car. Nissan brought out the new maxima and its not selling that well with a 40k price tag because people rather buy from a luxury brand for that money. Dont mention GTR because its in its own class. His logic is correct, and im sorry, the sync doesnt save Ford from Fix Or Repair Daily title. Now maybe if they had a lincoln version, this would fit correctly.
