Technically that is the first scheduled oil change. But, a lot of purists, or enthusiasts change it at 1200 miles or under. I drove mine by the book, changed the oil at 500 miles (Metal fragments are most abundant in the oil during early miles of an engines life), then started driving it how I wanted to.

It is. Other than some people getting some kind of peace of mind, there isn't a reason to do it any sooner.

I also test drove the exact same car I bought. I would not have it any other way since every G35/37 I drove accelerated and responded differently I wanted to knwo what I was getting. My car is fine, yours will be fine too.

That is why you have an oil filter. Any particles fine enough to flow through your oil filter will not hurt your engine.

i just picked up my G37x a few hours ago. Had 12 miles on it. Floored it many times, got it up to 100 in DS mode. Had fun... the break-in period is over!

Since you're in Canada, are you referring to 100 km/h?

No I'm mph enabled I didn't take it too high but still, 160 km/h or 100 mph. And it goes there fast. Had fun.

Yeah, that's what I hear, but there is def no harm in changing it that early for peace of mind. I've done that on numerous cars and engine builds, and have never had a mechanical problem in any motor I've ever owned. (That's not to say I have never had a starter , alternator, coil packs, blah blah, go bad.)
